6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Vacuum Sealing Bags (Automatic Mode)

  1. Prepare your food and place it inside a suitable vacuum bag, ensuring the open end is clean and dry. Leave at least 5-7 cm of space between the food and the open end of the bag.
  2. Open the lid of the vacuum sealer.
  3. Place the open end of the bag flat over the sealing bar, ensuring it is positioned correctly within the vacuum channel.
  4. Close the lid firmly until it latches.
  5. Select the automatic operating mode using the appropriate rocker switch.
  6. The appliance will automatically start the vacuum process, indicated by the vacuum gauge. Once the desired vacuum level is reached, the sealing process will begin, and the red indicator light will illuminate.
  7. After the sealing is complete, the red light will turn off, and the lid will release automatically.
  8. Remove the sealed bag.

6.2. Vacuum Sealing Bags (Manual Mode)

Manual mode allows for greater control over the vacuum process, useful for delicate foods.

  1. Follow steps 1-4 from the Automatic Mode section.
  2. Select the manual operating mode using the appropriate rocker switch.
  3. Press and hold the vacuum button (refer to component diagram if available) to start the vacuum process. Monitor the vacuum gauge.
  4. Once the desired vacuum level is achieved, release the vacuum button and immediately press the seal button (refer to component diagram if available) to initiate sealing. The red indicator light will illuminate.
  5. After the sealing is complete, the red light will turn off, and the lid will release automatically.
  6. Remove the sealed bag.

6.3. Using with REBER Containers and Lids

The appliance includes an air intake for external vacuuming of REBER brand containers and lids.

  1. Prepare your food in a REBER vacuum container and secure the lid.
  2. Connect one end of the attachment hose (supplied with the appliance) to the air intake port on the vacuum sealer.
  3. Connect the other end of the hose to the valve on the REBER container lid.
  4. Select the appropriate mode for external vacuuming (refer to control switches).
  5. The appliance will begin to extract air from the container. Monitor the vacuum gauge.
  6. Once the vacuum process is complete, the appliance will stop automatically, or you may need to manually stop it depending on the mode.
  7. Remove the hose from the container and the appliance.

6.4. Adjusting Sealing Power

The sealing power can be electronically adjusted using the potentiometer (rotary knob) on the control panel. This is useful for different bag thicknesses or materials.

  • Turn the potentiometer clockwise to increase sealing power for thicker bags or a stronger seal.
  • Turn the potentiometer counter-clockwise to decrease sealing power for thinner bags or to prevent overheating.

6.5. Supervacuum Function

The Supervacuum function provides an enhanced vacuum level. This function is electronically adjustable.

  • Refer to the control panel for the specific switch or button to activate the Supervacuum function.
  • Adjust the intensity of the Supervacuum function as needed, if applicable, via the electronic controls.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your vacuum sealer.

7.1. Cleaning

  1. Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  2. Wipe the stainless steel casing with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  3. Clean the vacuum channel and sealing bar area with a soft, damp cloth to remove any food residue. Ensure these areas are dry before next use.
  4. Do not immerse the appliance in water.

7.2. Pump Maintenance

The Reber Ecopro 40 features a self-lubricating double-body piston pump, which requires no specific maintenance from the user.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your vacuum sealer, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Appliance does not turn on: Check if the power cable is securely plugged into the outlet and the appliance. Ensure the green power switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Poor vacuum or no vacuum:
    • Ensure the bag is properly placed over the sealing bar and within the vacuum channel.
    • Check that the lid is firmly closed and latched.
    • Inspect the bag for any punctures or tears.
    • Ensure the open end of the bag is clean and dry.
  • Bag does not seal properly:
    • Adjust the sealing power using the potentiometer. Increase it if the seal is weak, decrease it if the bag melts.
    • Ensure the sealing bar and surrounding area are clean and free of debris.
    • Allow the sealing bar to cool slightly between consecutive seals if performing many operations in a short period (though the Ecopro 40 is designed for continuous operation, extreme conditions might warrant a brief pause).
  • Vacuum gauge not moving: Ensure the appliance is powered on and the bag is correctly positioned and the lid is closed. If using external containers, check hose connections.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
