Installation

This floodlight is designed for wall-mount installation. Ensure the mounting surface is sturdy and can support the fixture's weight.

1. Turn Off Power: Before starting, turn off the power to the junction box at the circuit breaker.
2. Prepare Mounting Surface: If replacing an existing fixture, remove it. Ensure the junction box is clean and accessible.
3. Install Mounting Plate: Attach the provided mounting plate or adapter to the junction box using the screws. Ensure it is securely fastened. For wood surfaces, pre-drill holes if necessary.
4. Wire Connections: Connect the floodlight's wires to your household wiring. Typically, this involves connecting:
   • Black (Live) wire from fixture to Black (Live) wire from junction box.
   • White (Neutral) wire from fixture to White (Neutral) wire from junction box.
   • Green or Bare Copper (Ground) wire from fixture to Green or Bare Copper (Ground) wire from junction box.
   Secure connections with wire nuts and ensure no bare wire is exposed.
5. Mount Fixture: Carefully align the floodlight fixture with the mounting plate and secure it using the provided screws or nuts. Ensure the fixture is flush against the mounting surface to prevent water intrusion.
6. Adjust Light Heads and Sensor: Once mounted, adjust the light heads to direct illumination as needed. Position the motion sensor for optimal detection coverage.
7. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

Operation

The floodlight operates based on its integrated dusk-to-dawn and motion sensors.

• Automatic Mode: In normal operation, the light will activate when motion is detected during nighttime hours. It will turn off after a set delay if no further motion is detected. To ensure automatic mode, ensure the light has been off for at least 2 minutes before turning it on.
• Manual Override: To keep the light on continuously, quickly turn the light switch OFF then ON within 2 seconds. The light will remain on until the switch is turned OFF again. To return to automatic mode, turn the light switch OFF, wait for at least 2 minutes, then turn it ON.

Settings and Adjustments

The motion sensor unit typically has adjustable dials for sensitivity (LUX), time duration (TIME), and detection range (SENS).

• LUX (Light Sensitivity): Adjust this dial to control at what ambient light level the sensor becomes active. Turn towards the 'sun' icon for activation during brighter conditions (day and night), or towards the 'moon' icon for activation only in darker conditions (night only).
• TIME (Duration): Adjust this dial to set how long the light remains on after motion is detected and no further motion is sensed. Common settings range from a few seconds to several minutes.
• SENS (Motion Sensitivity/Range): Adjust this dial to control the motion sensor's detection range. Turning it up increases the range (up to 32.8 feet), while turning it down reduces it. Test different settings to find the optimal coverage for your area.

Maintenance

The Home Zone LED Outdoor Security Floodlight requires minimal maintenance.

• Cleaning: Periodically clean the fixture with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or sensor.
• LEDs: The LED light source is integrated and designed for long life. It is not user-replaceable.
• Sensor: Keep the motion sensor lens clear of dirt, dust, and obstructions to ensure proper operation.
