3. Setup

3.1 Device Overview and Buttons

The ROX 10.0 GPS features a large display and is operated using six buttons. Familiarize yourself with their functions:

  • START/LAP Button (Bottom Left): Initiates or records a lap during a training session.
  • MODE Button (Bottom Right): Switches between different display views or menu options.

4. Operation

4.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the ENTER button for approximately 2-3 seconds. The main menu will appear.
  • To Power Off: From the main menu, navigate to 'Settings' and select 'Power Off', or if in training mode, stop the session and then power off. The device will also automatically switch off if the exercise time stops for more than 5 minutes.

4.2 Main Menu Navigation

From the main menu, use the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons to scroll through options such as 'Training', 'Load Track', 'Memory', 'Status Info', 'Extras', and 'Settings'. Press ENTER to select an option.

4.3 Training Mode

Upon entering 'Training' mode, the device displays the classic Sigma bike computer view. The top line shows GPS signal strength and battery status. Below this, four current values are displayed: heart rate, altitude, cadence, and incline. The current speed is prominently displayed in the middle. The lower display area can be customized.

  • Zooming Values: Press ENTER to zoom in and enlarge individual values for better readability.
  • Customizing Lower Display: Use the Plus (+) or Minus (-) buttons to switch between 10 different functions defined in 'Favorites A' and 'Favorites B' (configured in 'Settings').
  • Track View: Press the MODE button to switch to 'Track' view. This displays the satellite search signal, a loaded track, or the track already ridden. Use Plus (+) to zoom in and Minus (-) to zoom out.
  • Altitude Profile: Press MODE again to switch to the 'Altitude' display area, showing a graphical view of the altitude profile. If a track is loaded, it shows the profile for the track and your current position. If no track is loaded, it shows the profile for the distance you have already ridden.

4.4 Starting, Stopping, and Saving a Training Session

  1. To Start: From the 'Training' menu, press the START/LAP button. The device will begin recording your session. If speed is detected before pressing START, a reminder "Speed detected! press START!" will appear.
  2. To Stop: During a training session, press the BACK/STOP button. The exercise time will pause.
  3. To Save and Reset: After stopping, press and hold the BACK/STOP button. This will save the details of your training session and reset the trip data.
  4. To Continue Recording: If the device has powered off automatically, switch it back on, select 'Training' mode, and press the START/LAP button to resume recording the current session.

4.5 Auto-Pause Function

If the auto-pause function is activated (can be toggled in the Short Menu), the recording will automatically pause if no speed is detected (e.g., when you stop at a traffic light). Recording resumes automatically when speed is detected again.

4.6 Short Menu

While in the 'Training' menu, you can access the Short Menu by simultaneously pressing the BACK/STOP and ENTER buttons. This menu allows you to configure various settings quickly:

  • Altitude: Calibrate the current altitude.
  • Favorites A/B: Switch between or configure your preferred display views.
  • Load Track: Load a track that has either been ridden previously or saved on the device.
  • Track Settings: Adjust settings related to track navigation.
  • Target Zone Alarm: Toggle the target zone alarm on or off.
  • Auto Pause: Toggle the auto-pause function on or off.
  • Bike Selection: Select the current training bike.
