1. Product Overview

2. Installation Instructions

This showerhead is designed for easy installation onto an existing shower arm. No specialized tools are typically required beyond a wrench and plumber's tape.

Required Tools:

• Adjustable Wrench
• Plumber's Tape (PTFE thread seal tape)
• Soft Cloth

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Shower Arm: Ensure the water supply to the shower is turned off. Remove any existing showerhead by turning it counter-clockwise. Clean any old plumber's tape or debris from the shower arm threads.
2. Apply Plumber's Tape: Wrap plumber's tape clockwise around the threads of the shower arm 3-5 times. This helps create a watertight seal and prevents leaks.
3. Attach the Showerhead: Thread the Moen 3638 showerhead onto the shower arm by turning it clockwise. Hand-tighten until snug.
4. Final Tightening: Using an adjustable wrench and a soft cloth (to protect the finish), carefully tighten the showerhead an additional quarter to half turn. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the threads or the showerhead.
5. Test for Leaks: Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks around the connection point. If leaks occur, turn off the water, re-tighten slightly, or reapply plumber's tape.

3. Operating Instructions

The Moen 3638 showerhead offers four distinct spray functions. These functions can be easily selected by rotating the lever located on the side of the showerhead.

Spray Functions:

• Full Spray: Provides a consistent, wide coverage spray for everyday rinsing.
• Invigorating Spray: A more focused and powerful spray designed to refresh.

  • Verify that plumber's tape was applied correctly and sufficiently to the shower arm threads (refer to Section 2, Step 2). Reapply if necessary.
• Difficulty Changing Spray Settings:
  • Mineral deposits can sometimes hinder the rotation of the spray selection lever. Clean the showerhead thoroughly.
  • Ensure the lever is not obstructed.
