4. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your G-Shock watch.
4.1 Cleaning
Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild neutral detergent, then wipe dry. Avoid using volatile agents like thinner or benzine, which can damage the resin components.
4.2 Water Resistance
The GLX-150 is water resistant to 200 meters (660 feet). This makes it suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. However, avoid operating buttons underwater, as this can compromise the water resistance. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and wipe it dry.
4.3 Temperature Exposure
Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, both high and low, for extended periods. This can affect battery life and display performance.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your watch, try the following common solutions:
- Incorrect Time/Date: Re-enter the Timekeeping Mode settings and ensure your Home City, DST, time, and date are correctly configured as per Section 2.2.
- Display is Blank or Faint: The battery may be low. While this model does not feature Tough Solar, a battery replacement by a qualified technician may be necessary.
- Buttons Unresponsive: Ensure the watch is not in a locked mode (if applicable, though GLX-150 typically does not have a button lock). If the issue persists, a full reset (if available for this model, often by shorting a specific contact inside) or professional inspection may be required.
- Water Inside Display: If condensation or water appears inside the display, stop using the watch immediately and have it inspected by a Casio service center.
