Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all contents from the box. Ensure all listed items are present.
  2. Placement: Place the Max LP on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or excessive dust.
  3. Dust Cover: Attach the clear dust cover to the hinges at the back of the turntable. This protects the platter and stylus when not in use.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the included power adapter to the DC 12V 1A input on the rear panel of the Max LP, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  5. Audio Output (Optional):

    • RCA Outputs: For connecting to an external stereo system or powered speakers, use standard RCA cables (not included) to connect the AUDIO OUTPUT jacks on the rear of the Max LP to the audio input of your receiver or speakers.
    • Auxiliary Input: To play audio from an external source (e.g., cassette player, CD player) through the Max LP's built-in speakers, connect the source to the AUX INPUT (1/8-inch) jack on the rear panel.
  6. USB Connection (for Digital Conversion):

    Connect the included USB cable from the USB port on the rear of the Max LP to an available USB port on your computer. Install the EZ Vinyl/Tape Converter software from the included CD or download it from the ION Audio website.

Operating Instructions

  1. Powering On/Off: Locate the POWER switch on the rear panel and slide it to the ON position to power on the unit. Slide to OFF when not in use.
  2. Placing a Record: Place a vinyl record on the turntable platter. If playing a 45 RPM single, place the included 45 RPM adapter on the center spindle.
  3. Selecting Playback Speed:

    Use the 33/45/78 RPM selector switch (located near the tonearm) to choose the appropriate speed for your record.
  4. Playing a Record:

    • Gently lift the tonearm using the cue lever.
    • Move the tonearm over the desired track on the record.
    • Slowly lower the tonearm onto the record using the cue lever. The record will begin to play.
    • When the record finishes, the turntable will automatically stop spinning (if Auto-Stop is enabled). Manually return the tonearm to its rest.
  5. Volume Control: Adjust the VOLUME knob on the front panel to control the sound level from the built-in speakers.

  6. USB Conversion: Follow the instructions provided with the EZ Vinyl/Tape Converter software to digitize your vinyl records. The software guides you through the process of recording and separating tracks.
  7. Headphone Output: For private listening, plug 1/8-inch (3.5mm) headphones into the headphone jack on the front panel.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Unit: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the Max LP. For the dust cover, use a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Cleaning the Stylus: Gently brush the stylus from back to front with a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning. Do not use excessive force.
  • Stylus Replacement: The stylus (needle) has a limited lifespan. If sound quality degrades, the stylus may need replacement. Refer to the ION Audio website or contact support for compatible replacement styli.
  • General Care: Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight. Always place the dust cover when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

Troubleshooting
