2. Safety Information

Please read and follow all safety instructions to prevent electric shock, fire, or damage to the unit. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture.
  • Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  • Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  • Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way.

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the monitor from its packaging. Retain the original packaging for future transport or storage. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. If damage is found, contact your dealer immediately.

3.2 Placement

The SC305 monitors are designed for nearfield studio applications. Proper placement is crucial for optimal sound reproduction. Position the monitors symmetrically in your listening environment. The SC305 features a DSP section that assists in assigning the speaker for left or right-hand side operation, ensuring proper symmetry without physically moving the units. Ensure adequate space around the monitors for ventilation.

  • Place monitors on a stable, level surface or appropriate stands.
  • Avoid placing monitors directly against walls or in corners, as this can affect bass response.
  • Position the monitors to form an equilateral triangle with your listening position.

3.3 Connections

The SC305 offers both RCA and XLR connectivity for audio input.

  1. Audio Input: Connect your audio source (e.g., audio interface, mixer) to the monitor using either an XLR cable for balanced connections or an RCA cable for unbalanced connections. Ensure the correct input is selected on the monitor if applicable.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC inlet on the rear of the monitor, then plug it into a suitable power outlet.

3.4 Powering On/Off

Locate the power switch on the rear panel of the monitor. Flip the switch to the 'ON' position to power on the unit. Flip it to 'OFF' to power down. It is recommended to power on your monitors after your audio source and power them off before your audio source to prevent transient noises.

4. Operation

4.1 Basic Controls

The SC305 features a touch control interface for adjustments. Refer to the specific controls on your unit for volume, input selection, and DSP settings. The DSP section allows for fine-tuning the monitor's response to your room acoustics and personal preference.

4.2 DSP Configuration

The integrated DSP (Digital Signal Processing) allows for precise adjustments to optimize the monitor's performance in your specific environment. This includes settings for room compensation, filter adjustments, and the aforementioned left/right speaker assignment. Consult the on-screen menu or dedicated controls for detailed DSP configuration options.

4.3 Listening Levels

Always start with a low volume level and gradually increase it to a comfortable listening level. Prolonged exposure to high sound pressure levels can cause hearing damage.

5. Care and Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your EVE Audio SC305 monitors, follow these care guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces of the monitor. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings are not obstructed to prevent overheating.
  • Environment: Avoid exposing the monitors to extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Transportation: When transporting the monitors, use the original packaging or suitable protective cases to prevent damage.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SC305 monitor, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No sound output Power off, incorrect input, faulty cable, source issue Check power connection, verify input selection, test with different cables, ensure audio source is active.
Distorted sound Input level too high, faulty cable, damaged driver Reduce input level, try a different cable, contact support if driver damage is suspected.
Humming or buzzing noise Ground loop, interference from other electronics Ensure all equipment is on the same electrical circuit, use balanced cables, try isolating power sources.
Monitor not powering on Power cable disconnected, faulty power outlet Check power cable connection, try a different power outlet.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact EVE Audio customer support or your authorized dealer.
