2.5 Frequency Band Selection
Important: Ensure the wireless frequency band of your BLX4R receiver matches that of your Shure BLX series transmitter (BLX1 or BLX2), which are sold separately. This receiver is the H8 Band (518-542 MHz) model.
Before operation, verify that the selected wireless frequency band is permissible and optimal for your geographical area. Refer to the Shure website for detailed frequency finder information.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Powering On/Off
Press the Power button on the front panel to turn the receiver on or off.
3.2 QuickScan Frequency Selection
The BLX4R features a one-touch QuickScan function to quickly locate the best open frequency in case of interference. To perform a QuickScan, ensure your transmitter is off, then press and hold the Group button on the receiver until the scan initiates. The receiver will automatically select and set the clearest available frequency.
3.3 Manual Group and Channel Selection
If manual adjustment is required, use the Group (A-Y) and Channel (0-9) buttons to navigate through available frequencies. The LCD display will show the selected group and channel, along with RF and audio metering.
3.4 Audio Output Level Adjustment
The BLX4R allows for adjustable output level. Use the appropriate controls (refer to the detailed diagram in the full user guide if available) to set the desired audio output level for your mixing console or amplifier.
3.5 Audio Status Indicator
Monitor the two-color audio status indicator LED on the front panel:
- Green: Indicates normal audio levels.
- Red: Indicates excessive audio levels (overload/clipping). Adjust the input gain on your transmitter or the output level on the receiver to prevent clipping.
