1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control (refer to Figure 3).
  2. Slide the battery cover downwards or press the latch to open the compartment.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Note: This remote control typically requires no programming and should function immediately with compatible VIZIO televisions once batteries are installed.

4. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the buttons on your remote control (refer to Figure 2 for button layout).

  • Power Button: Turns the television on or off.

  • Number Pad (0-9): For direct channel entry.
  • CC (Closed Captioning): Toggles closed captions on or off.
  • Info: Displays information about the current program or input.
  • Wide: Adjusts the screen aspect ratio.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the remote control. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the remote's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new AAA batteries.
  • Storage: If the remote will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Ensure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the television's infrared sensor.
    • Check if the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity.
    • Replace the batteries with fresh AAA batteries.
