Setup

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove the thermometer from its packaging. Inspect the device for any visible damage. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.

2. Battery Installation/Check

The thermometer is battery-powered. Ensure the battery is correctly installed. If the display does not light up, replace the battery according to the instructions in the Maintenance section.

3. Initial Power On

Press the ON-OFF button to power on the device. The display should illuminate and show the current temperature.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

• To turn on the thermometer, press the ON-OFF button.
• To turn off the thermometer, press the ON-OFF button again. The device may also have an auto-off feature to conserve battery life.

2. Temperature Measurement

1. Insert the stainless steel stem into the substance or environment to be measured. Ensure the stem is sufficiently immersed for accurate readings.
2. Wait for the temperature reading on the digital display to stabilize. This may take a few seconds depending on the temperature difference.

3. Unit Selection (°C/°F)

Press the °C/°F button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature units. The selected unit will be indicated on the display.

4. HOLD Function

Press the HOLD button to freeze the current temperature reading on the display. This is useful for recording readings in hard-to-reach areas. Press the HOLD button again to release the reading and return to live measurement.

5. MAX/MIN Function

Press the MAX/MIN button to view the maximum or minimum temperature recorded since the device was powered on or the function was reset. Subsequent presses will cycle through MAX, MIN, and current temperature display. To reset the MAX/MIN values, typically hold the button down or power cycle the device.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the thermometer stem and body with a damp cloth. For sterilization, the stainless steel stem can be cleaned with appropriate laboratory disinfectants. Do not immerse the main body of the thermometer in liquid.

2. Storage

Store the thermometer in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Use the protective sleeve or case if provided.

3. Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or erratic, it's time to replace the battery. Locate the battery compartment, usually on the back or side of the main unit. Open it, remove the old battery, and insert a new one of the same type, observing polarity. Close the compartment securely.
