4. Setup and Assembly

4.1 Unpacking and Inspection

1. Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
2. Inspect the machine for any shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to the carrier and supplier.
3. Verify that all included components are present as per the packing list.

4.2 Placement and Stability

• Place the planer on a stable, level surface capable of supporting its weight (approximately 91 kg).
• Ensure adequate clearance around the machine for safe operation and material handling.
• Adjust the leveling feet to ensure the machine is perfectly stable and does not wobble.

4.3 Electrical Connection

• Connect the machine to a 230V power supply as indicated on the product label.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 General Operation Principles

• Always ensure the workpiece is free of nails, screws, or other foreign objects.
• Feed material smoothly and consistently. Avoid forcing the workpiece.
• Never remove more than the recommended maximum cutting depth per pass.

5.2 Directional Planing (Jointing)

1. Ensure the thickness planing table is lowered and secured, and the directional planing tables are properly aligned.
2. Adjust the infeed and outfeed tables to be level with the planer knives.
3. Set the desired cutting depth using the infeed table adjustment. Maximum felling is 3 mm.
4. Adjust the directional stop (fence) to the desired angle (90° to 45°) and secure it.
5. Turn on the machine using the green 'ON' button.
6. Carefully feed the workpiece across the tables, keeping it firmly against the fence and the table surface.
7. Use push blocks for short or narrow workpieces.

5.3 Thickness Planing

1. Convert the machine to thickness function by swiveling the directional tables out of the way and raising the thickness planing table.
2. Adjust the thickness planing table to the desired height using the handwheel. Maximum workpiece thickness is 160 mm. Maximum felling is 2 mm per pass.
3. Turn on the machine.
4. Feed the workpiece into the thickness planer opening. The machine's feed rollers will automatically pull the material through at 8 m/min.
5. Support the workpiece as it exits the machine to prevent snipe.
6. Repeat passes, reducing the thickness incrementally, until the desired dimension is achieved.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your planer.

6.1 Cleaning

• After each use, disconnect power and clean the machine thoroughly.
• Remove all wood chips and dust from the tables, guards, and dust collection system.
• Empty the dust bag regularly.
• Use a brush or compressed air to clean hard-to-reach areas.

6.2 Planer Knife Replacement

1. DANGER: Disconnect the machine from the power supply before changing knives.
2. Carefully remove the guards covering the planer knife shaft.
3. Loosen the knife clamping screws and remove the dull knives.
4. Clean the knife seating area.
5. Install new, sharp knives, ensuring they are correctly seated and aligned with the outfeed table.
6. Tighten the clamping screws securely.
7. Replace all guards before reconnecting power and operating the machine.

6.3 Lubrication

• Periodically lubricate moving parts, such as the thickness adjustment screws and table guides, with a suitable dry lubricant or wax.
