Operating Instructions

The HZ-5525-WH security light offers flexible operation modes.

Motion Sensor Operation:

• Detection Zone: The sensor detects motion in a 180-degree range, covering up to 70 feet and a maximum 3,400-square-foot detection zone.
• Photocell: An integrated photocell automatically deactivates the motion sensor and light during daylight hours, conserving energy. The light will only activate due to motion when ambient light levels are low enough.
• Time Adjustment: Locate the timer adjustment dial on the sensor unit. This dial allows you to set the duration the light remains on after motion is detected and stops. Adjust it to your preferred time setting (e.g., 1, 5, or 10 minutes).

Manual Override:

To keep the light on continuously, you can use the manual override feature via an existing indoor wall switch connected to the light fixture.

• To Activate: Flip the indoor wall switch OFF for approximately one second, then flip it back ON. The light should now stay on continuously, bypassing the motion sensor.
• To Deactivate: To return to motion-sensing mode, flip the indoor wall switch OFF for approximately one second, then back ON. The light will then revert to motion-activated operation.

Maintenance

Bulb Replacement:

The HZ-5525-WH uses a single halogen bulb up to 250 watts with a BC-3 base.

1. Disconnect Power: Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before attempting to replace the bulb.
2. Allow to Cool: Halogen bulbs become very hot. Allow the fixture and bulb to cool completely before handling.
3. Remove Old Bulb: Carefully open the fixture's lens cover. Gently pull the old halogen bulb straight out from its socket.
4. Install New Bulb: Insert the new 250-watt halogen bulb (BC-3 base) into the socket. Avoid touching the glass portion of the bulb with bare hands. Use a clean cloth or gloves to handle the bulb.
5. Close Fixture: Securely close the lens cover.
6. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
