3. Setup and Installation
Important Safety Information: Read all instructions before installation. If you have any questions, contact customer service. Ensure the mounting surface can support the combined weight of the mount and your TV. Professional installation is recommended for optimal safety and performance.
- Prepare the TV: Attach the TV brackets to the back of your television using the appropriate screws and spacers from the hardware kit. Ensure the brackets are securely fastened and centered.
- Locate Wall Stud: Use a stud finder to locate a suitable wood stud in your desired mounting location. Mark the center of the stud.
- Mount the Wall Plate: Position the wall plate of the mount against the wall, aligning it with the marked stud center. Use a level to ensure it is straight. Mark the pilot hole locations. Drill pilot holes into the stud. Secure the wall plate to the stud using the provided lag bolts and washers.
- Attach TV to Mount: Carefully lift the TV with the attached brackets and hook it onto the wall plate using the Lift n' Lock system. Ensure the TV is securely seated on the mount.
- Secure TV: Tighten any safety screws or locking mechanisms to prevent accidental dislodging of the TV from the mount.
- Cable Management: Route TV cables through the integrated cable management channels and use the plastic covers to conceal them for a tidy appearance.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your TV mount.
- Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by drying. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodic Inspection: Annually, or if you notice any changes in performance, inspect all screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Check for any signs of wear, damage, or corrosion.
- Lubrication: The articulating joints are designed for smooth operation and typically do not require lubrication. If movement becomes stiff, consult customer support.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your OmniMount OC40FM, refer to the following common solutions:
- TV is not level: Use the post-installation leveling adjustment feature to correct the horizontal alignment. Ensure the wall plate was installed level initially.
- Mount feels loose: Re-check all wall attachment bolts and TV bracket screws. Ensure they are securely tightened. If the issue persists, the wall stud may not be adequately supporting the weight, or the installation was not performed correctly.
- Difficulty adjusting TV position: Ensure no cables are snagged or obstructing movement. Check if any locking mechanisms for tilt or swivel are engaged.
- Missing parts: If any parts were missing from the box, contact OmniMount customer support for assistance.
