Key Components:
- Probe Tip: The part that is inserted into the body for temperature measurement.
- Display: Shows the temperature reading and various indicators.
- ON/OFF Button: Used to power the device on and off.
3. Setup
Before first use, or after prolonged storage, ensure the thermometer is clean. The device requires one unknown type of battery for operation. If the display does not light up or shows a low battery indicator, the battery may need replacement. Refer to the 'Maintenance and Care' section for battery replacement instructions.
4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for accurate temperature measurement:
- Power On: Press the ON/OFF button. A short beep will sound, and the display will show all segments for approximately 2 seconds. The last measured temperature will then be displayed for 2 seconds.
- Ready for Measurement: When 'Lo °C' (or 'Lo °F') appears on the display, followed by a flashing '°C' (or '°F'), the thermometer is ready for measurement.
- Positioning: Place the probe tip according to the desired measurement site (oral, axillary, or rectal).
- Measurement: The thermometer will automatically begin measuring. The temperature will be displayed within approximately 60 seconds. A long beep will sound when the measurement is complete and the stable temperature is reached.
- Reading the Result: Read the temperature displayed on the screen.
- Power Off: Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the thermometer. The thermometer will automatically shut off after approximately 10 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
Note: For hygienic reasons, it is recommended to clean the thermometer before and after each use.
5. Maintenance and Care
Proper care ensures the longevity and accuracy of your thermometer:
- Cleaning: The thermometer is water-resistant. Clean the probe tip before and after each use with a soft cloth moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol or cold soapy water. Do not immerse the entire thermometer in water.
- Storage: Store the thermometer in its protective case in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Replacement: When the battery symbol appears on the display, the battery is low and needs to be replaced. Open the battery compartment cover, remove the old battery, and insert a new one, ensuring correct polarity. Close the cover securely.
- Disposal: Dispose of the device and batteries according to local regulations. Do not dispose of them with household waste.
