- Power Supply
- Sumiko Pearl Cartridge (pre-installed or separate)

Setup Instructions
Follow these steps carefully to set up your turntable:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport.
- Platter Installation: Place the platter onto the central spindle. Ensure it sits securely and rotates freely.
- Motor Placement: Position the outboard motor unit next to the turntable chassis. The motor pulley should align with the outer rim of the platter.
- Drive Belt Installation: Gently stretch the drive belt around the motor pulley and the outer rim of the platter. Ensure the belt is not twisted.
- Cartridge Installation (if not pre-installed): If your Sumiko Pearl cartridge is not pre-installed, carefully attach it to the tonearm headshell using the provided screws. Ensure correct alignment.
- Counterweight Adjustment: Slide the counterweight onto the rear of the tonearm. Adjust it until the tonearm floats horizontally. Then, set the tracking force according to the cartridge manufacturer's recommendations (typically 1.8g for Sumiko Pearl). Use a stylus pressure gauge for accuracy.
- Anti-skating Adjustment: Attach the anti-skating weight to the tonearm's anti-skating mechanism. Adjust the setting to match the tracking force.
- Connecting to Amplifier: Connect the removable RCA cables from the turntable's output to the "Phono" input of your amplifier or a dedicated phono preamplifier. Ensure the ground wire is connected between the turntable and your amplifier/preamplifier to minimize hum.

Operating Instructions
- Power On: Connect the power supply to the motor unit and a wall outlet. Press the power button on the motor unit to start the platter rotation.
- Select Speed: Most turntables offer 33 1/3 RPM and 45 RPM. Ensure the correct speed is selected for your record. (Refer to motor unit for speed selection mechanism, typically a switch or belt position change).
- Place Record: Carefully place your vinyl record onto the platter.
- Lower Tonearm: Gently lift the tonearm using the cueing lever. Position the stylus over the desired track on the record. Slowly lower the cueing lever to allow the stylus to descend onto the record groove.
- Playback: The record will now play. Adjust the volume on your amplifier.
- Stopping Playback: At the end of the record, or when you wish to stop, use the cueing lever to lift the tonearm from the record. Return the tonearm to its rest and secure it. Press the power button on the motor unit to stop the platter.
Maintenance
- Record Cleaning: Regularly clean your vinyl records using a dedicated record brush or cleaning solution to remove dust and static.
- Stylus Care: Use a soft stylus brush to gently clean the stylus tip before and after each play. Brush from back to front. Avoid touching the stylus with your fingers.
- Turntable Cleaning: Wipe the turntable chassis and platter with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Belt Inspection: Periodically check the drive belt for wear or stretching. Replace if necessary to maintain accurate playback speed.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your turntable, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power / Platter not spinning | Power cable disconnected; faulty power supply/motor; power outlet issue. | Ensure power cable is securely connected. Test the power outlet with another device. If the issue persists, contact support. |
| Humming or buzzing sound | Ground wire not connected; proximity to other electronics; faulty cabling; internal wiring issue. | Ensure the ground wire is securely connected between the turntable and amplifier/preamplifier. Move the turntable away from other electronic devices. Check RCA cables for damage. If hum persists, it may indicate an internal grounding issue requiring professional service. |
| Distorted sound / Skipping | Incorrect tracking force; worn or dirty stylus; damaged record; incorrect anti-skating. | Re-adjust tracking force and anti-skating. Clean the stylus. Inspect the record for damage. Replace stylus if worn. |
| Incorrect playback speed | Incorrect speed selection; worn or stretched drive belt. | Verify the correct speed setting. Inspect and replace the drive belt if it appears worn or loose. |
