1. Introduction
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Duravit 0074770062 Fill Valve. This component is an original replacement part designed specifically for Duravit toilet model 212501TP, ensuring proper water level regulation and efficient flushing performance.
Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding with installation or maintenance to ensure correct operation and to prevent damage.
2. Product Overview
The Duravit 0074770062 Fill Valve is a crucial component within your toilet tank system. It controls the refilling of the toilet tank after each flush and ensures the water level is maintained at the correct height for optimal flushing. This valve is designed for durability and reliable performance.

3. Installation Instructions
Before beginning, ensure you have the necessary tools: adjustable wrench, sponge/towel, and a bucket.
- Turn Off Water Supply: Locate the water supply valve at the base of the toilet and turn it clockwise until the water flow stops completely.
- Flush Toilet: Flush the toilet to empty the tank. Hold the flush handle down to drain as much water as possible. Use a sponge or towel to remove any remaining water from the tank.
- Disconnect Water Supply Line: Place a bucket under the toilet's water supply connection. Using an adjustable wrench, carefully loosen and remove the water supply line from the bottom of the old fill valve.
- Remove Old Fill Valve: Inside the tank, loosen the lock nut that secures the old fill valve to the tank. Remove the old fill valve from the tank.
- Install New Fill Valve: Insert the new Duravit 0074770062 Fill Valve into the hole at the bottom of the toilet tank. Ensure the rubber washer is correctly seated on the outside of the tank. Secure the valve with the new lock nut, tightening it by hand first, then with an adjustable wrench a quarter turn past hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
- Connect Water Supply Line: Reconnect the water supply line to the bottom of the new fill valve. Hand-tighten, then use an adjustable wrench for a final snug turn.
- Adjust Water Level: The fill valve features an adjustment mechanism (refer to Figure 2). Adjust the float or rod to set the desired water level in the tank. The water level should be approximately 1 inch below the top of the overflow tube.
- Turn On Water Supply: Slowly turn the water supply valve counter-clockwise to restore water flow to the toilet tank. Check for any leaks at the connections.
- Test Flush: Allow the tank to fill, then flush the toilet several times to ensure proper operation and that the water level is correct. Make further adjustments if necessary.
4. Operation
Once installed and adjusted, the Duravit 0074770062 Fill Valve operates automatically. After each flush, the water level in the tank drops, causing the float mechanism on the fill valve to lower. This opens the valve, allowing fresh water to enter the tank and refill it. As the water level rises, the float mechanism lifts, eventually closing the valve when the preset water level is reached, stopping the water flow.
The water level can be fine-tuned using the adjustment rod or screw on the fill valve. Ensure the water level is set correctly to prevent water waste (if too high) or incomplete flushing (if too low).
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and efficient operation of your fill valve:
- Periodic Inspection: Annually inspect the fill valve for any signs of wear, cracks, or mineral buildup.
- Cleaning: If you notice slow filling or continuous running, mineral deposits may be affecting the valve. Turn off the water supply, remove the top cap of the fill valve (if applicable), and gently clean any visible debris or mineral buildup.
- Check for Leaks: Regularly check all connections for leaks. Tighten any loose connections, but do not overtighten.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are common issues and their potential solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Toilet runs continuously | Water level too high, float mechanism stuck, or valve seal worn. | Adjust water level. Ensure float moves freely. Inspect and clean valve seal. |
| Toilet fills slowly or not at all | Water supply valve partially closed, clogged inlet screen, or low water pressure. | Ensure water supply valve is fully open. Check and clean the inlet screen on the fill valve. |
| Water leaks from connections | Loose connections or worn washers. | Tighten connections. Replace washers if necessary. |
If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, please contact Duravit customer support.
