Setup

Installing a Router Bit

1. Ensure the router is unplugged from the power source.
2. Press and hold the spindle lock button.
3. Use the provided wrench to loosen the collet nut.
4. Insert the desired router bit into the collet, ensuring it is fully seated but not bottomed out.
5. Tighten the collet nut firmly with the wrench while holding the spindle lock.

Attaching the Parallel Guide

1. Slide the guide rods of the parallel guide into the designated holes on the router base.
2. Adjust the guide to the desired distance from the router bit.
3. Secure the parallel guide by tightening the locking screws.

Connecting Dust Extraction

Attach a suitable dust extraction hose to the dust port on the router base to minimize sawdust and maintain a clear view of the workpiece.

Operating Instructions

Adjusting Cutting Depth

1. Loosen the depth adjustment lock.
2. Lower the router until the bit touches the workpiece.
3. Set the depth stop to the desired cutting depth using the fine adjustment knob (0.1mm precision).
4. Lock the depth adjustment.

Variable Speed Control

The router features variable speed control. Select the appropriate speed for the material being routed. Lower speeds are generally used for larger bits and harder materials, while higher speeds are suitable for smaller bits and softer materials.

Routing Techniques

• Always move the router against the direction of bit rotation to prevent kickback.
• For deep cuts, make several shallow passes rather than one deep pass to reduce strain on the tool and improve cut quality.
• Use the parallel guide for straight cuts along an edge.
• Use the template guide for routing along a specific pattern.

Maintenance

• Regularly clean the router, especially the collet and base, to remove sawdust and debris.
• Inspect the power cord for any damage before each use.
• Check router bits for sharpness and damage; replace dull or damaged bits.
• Store the router in a dry, secure location away from moisture and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

Router not starting

• Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet.
• Ensure the power switch is in the "ON" position.
• Verify that the circuit breaker has not tripped.

Poor cut quality or excessive vibration

• Check if the router bit is securely tightened in the collet.
• Ensure the router bit is sharp and undamaged.
• Adjust the cutting speed according to the material.
• Make sure the workpiece is properly secured.
