4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Beetel M59 phone:

  1. Connect the Line Cord: Plug one end of the line cord into the wall jack and the other end into the port labeled "LINE" on the back of the phone.
  2. Connect the Coil Cord: Plug one end of the coil cord into the handset and the other end into the port labeled "HANDSET" on the side of the phone base.
  3. Install Batteries (Optional for some features): The phone requires 2 AA batteries for certain features like LCD backlight and memory retention during power outages. Open the battery compartment on the underside of the phone and insert 2 AA batteries, observing polarity.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making and Receiving Calls

  • To Make a Call: Lift the handset, wait for the dial tone, and dial the desired number.
  • To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, lift the handset to answer.
  • Using Speaker Phone: Press the Speaker button (often indicated by a speaker icon) to activate hands-free mode. Press again to deactivate.

5.2 Caller ID and Display

The 16-digit LCD display shows incoming call numbers, date, and time. You can adjust the display contrast for better visibility using the dedicated buttons (refer to the phone's physical buttons for "contrast" or "LCD adjust").

5.3 One-Touch Memory Buttons

5.4 Call Features

  • Music On Hold: Press the HOLD button during a call to place the caller on hold with music. Press again to resume the call.
  • Adjustable Ring Volume: Use the volume control buttons (often labeled "VOL" or with up/down arrows) to adjust the incoming ring volume. The phone offers 16 different ring melodies.
  • Do Not Disturb / Alarm: The phone includes features for setting alarms and a 'Do Not Disturb' mode. Refer to the specific button labels and the phone's internal menu for configuration.
