4. Setup and Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your power mixer before first use:

  1. Attach the Whisk:
    • Ensure the mixer is unplugged from the power source.
    • Align the threaded end of the whisk shaft with the mixer's spindle.
    • Screw the whisk onto the spindle clockwise until hand-tight.
    • Use the two provided wrenches to firmly tighten the whisk onto the spindle. One wrench holds the spindle, the other tightens the whisk.
  2. Power Connection:
    • Ensure the power switch is in the "OFF" position.
    • Plug the power cord into a suitable 230V, 50Hz power outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Material Preparation:
    • Place the material to be mixed into a sturdy, appropriate mixing container.
    • Ensure the container is on a stable, level surface.
  2. Starting the Mixer:
    • Hold the mixer firmly with both hands using the wide grip handles.
    • Immerse the whisk fully into the material before switching on the tool to prevent splashing.
    • Press the ON/OFF switch to start the mixer. The soft start feature will gradually bring the whisk up to speed.
  3. Speed Control:
    • The FERM PMM1006 features two mechanical speed settings:
      • Position I: 180-380 revolutions per minute (RPM) - Ideal for highly viscous materials like cement and mortar.
      • Position II: 300-650 revolutions per minute (RPM) - Suitable for less viscous materials such as paint and plaster.
    • Adjust the speed setting using the selector switch located on the tool body. Change speeds only when the tool is running or completely stopped.
    • The variable speed trigger allows for fine-tuning the speed within the selected range for optimal performance and splash-free use.
  4. Mixing Technique:
    • Move the mixer slowly and steadily through the material, ensuring all parts are thoroughly mixed.
    • Avoid lifting the whisk out of the material while it is running to prevent splashing.
  5. Stopping the Mixer:
    • Release the ON/OFF switch to stop the mixer.
    • Wait for the whisk to come to a complete stop before removing it from the material.
