3.1 Front Panel Layout

4. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your Technical Pro UREC7 unit:

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the UREC7 from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Placement: The UREC7 is designed for 1U rack mounting. Secure it in a standard 19-inch equipment rack using appropriate rack screws. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. If not rack-mounting, place it on a stable, flat surface.
3. Voltage Selection: Before connecting the power cable, verify that the Voltage Selector switch on the rear panel is set to the correct voltage for your region (110V or 220V). Incorrect voltage selection can damage the unit.
4. Audio Input Connection:
   • For recording from an external audio source (e.g., mixer, CD player), connect the RCA output of your source device to the RCA INPUTS on the rear panel of the UREC7.
   • Alternatively, for portable devices, connect the 1/8'' (AUX) output of your device to the 1/8'' MP3 input on the front panel.
5. Audio Output Connection: Connect the RCA OUTPUTS on the rear panel of the UREC7 to the RCA input of your amplifier, powered speakers, or sound system.

5. Operation

5.1 Inserting USB Drive or SD Card

Insert a USB flash drive or an SD card (up to 32 GB, formatted as FAT32) into the corresponding slot on the front panel. The unit will automatically detect the storage device.

5.2 Playback

1. Ensure a USB drive or SD card containing compatible audio files (.mp3, .wav, .wma) is inserted.
2. The LED display will show track information.
3. Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback. Press again to pause.
4. Use the NEXT TRACK and PREVIOUS TRACK buttons to navigate between files.
5. Press the STOP button to end playback.
6. Adjust the VOLUME knob on the front panel to control the output level.
7. Use the BASS and TREBLE knobs to fine-tune the audio tone.
8. For private monitoring, connect headphones to the 1/8'' Headphone Output.

5.3 Recording

The UREC7 records audio in .mp3 format at 128 kbps / 44.1 KHz sampling rate.

1. Ensure a USB drive or SD card with sufficient free space is inserted.
2. Connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, instrument) to the RCA INPUTS on the rear panel or the 1/8'' MP3 input on the front panel.
3. Start playing the audio from your source device.
4. Press and hold the REC button on the front panel until "REC" appears on the display.
5. Immediately press the REC button again briefly to start recording. The display will show recording time.
6. To stop recording, press the STOP button. The recorded file will be saved to the USB drive or SD card with a sequential filename (e.g., 001.mp3).
7. Note: The remote control does not support recording functions. All recording operations must be performed directly on the unit's front panel.
