- MIC/IN (Channels 1 & 2): XLR/TRS combo jacks for microphone or line-level inputs.
- LINE/IN (Channels 1 & 2): 1/4-inch TRS jacks for line-level inputs.
- 3 R/IN & 4 L/IN (MONO): RCA inputs for stereo line-level devices (e.g., CD players, media players).
- L/OUTPUT & R/OUTPUT: 1/4-inch TRS jacks for main stereo output to speakers or amplifiers.
- PHONES: 1/4-inch TRS jack for headphone monitoring.
- POWER DC 12V: Power input jack for the included DC 12V adapter.
4. Setup
- Power Connection: Connect the supplied DC 12V power adapter to the POWER DC 12V input on the rear panel of the mixer. Plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet. Do not power on the mixer yet.
- Input Connections:
- For microphones, connect them to the MIC/IN (XLR) jacks on channels 1 or 2. If using condenser microphones, ensure +48V phantom power is off before connecting, then activate it after connection.
- For instruments or line-level devices (e.g., keyboards, guitars with preamps), connect them to the LINE/IN (1/4-inch TRS) jacks on channels 1 or 2.
- For stereo line-level sources (e.g., MP3 players, laptops), connect them to the 3 R/IN and 4 L/IN (MONO) RCA inputs.
- Output Connections:
- Connect your main speakers or amplifier to the L/OUTPUT and R/OUTPUT (1/4-inch TRS) jacks.
- Connect your headphones to the PHONES (1/4-inch TRS) jack for monitoring.
- Initial Settings: Before powering on, ensure all LEVEL controls are set to their minimum (fully counter-clockwise) position.
- Power On: Once all connections are secure, press the POWER button on the top panel to turn on the mixer. The POWER indicator LED will illuminate.
5. Operating Instructions
- Adjusting Input Gain: For channels 1 and 2, slowly increase the GAIN control until the signal peak LED (next to the main level meters) occasionally flashes. This ensures a strong signal without distortion.
- Using the Equalizer (EQ): Channels 1 and 2 feature a 2-band EQ. Adjust the HI (treble) and LOW (bass) controls to shape the tone of each input. Turning clockwise boosts the frequency, counter-clockwise cuts it.
- Setting Channel Levels: Slowly increase the LEVEL control for each active channel (1, 2, or 3/4) to blend the individual signals into the main mix.
- Main Output Level: Adjust the MAIN LEVEL control to set the overall volume of the mix sent to your speakers or amplifier.
- Headphone Monitoring: Use the PHONES LEVEL control to adjust the volume of your headphones. The headphone output mirrors the main mix.
- 2-Track Input/Output (2TK IN/OUT): The 2TK IN (RCA) allows you to connect an external stereo source (e.g., a playback device). The 2TK OUT (RCA) sends the main mix to a recording device. Use the 2TK TO MAIN/PHONES button to route the 2-track input to either the main mix or just the headphones for monitoring.
- Phantom Power (+48V): If using condenser microphones, press the +48V button to supply power. Ensure microphones are connected before activating and disconnect after deactivating.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior of the mixer. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive cleaners, or sprays.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the mixer in a dry, dust-free environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Cable Management: Ensure cables are not kinked or strained, which can lead to damage over time.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Sound Output:
- Check if the mixer is powered on and the POWER indicator is lit.
- Ensure all LEVEL controls (channel and main) are turned up.
- Verify all audio cables are securely connected to the correct inputs and outputs.
- Check the volume levels on your connected speakers or amplifier.
- Distorted Sound:
- Reduce the GAIN control for the input channel.
- Lower the channel LEVEL or MAIN LEVEL.
- Ensure the input source itself is not distorted.
- Background Noise/Hum:
- Ensure input levels are sufficiently high (adjust GAIN) to avoid needing to boost output levels excessively, which can amplify noise.
- Check for faulty or unshielded cables.
- Ensure proper grounding of all connected equipment.
- Keep audio cables away from power cables.
- Output is Mono (despite L/R outputs): While the mixer provides separate L/R outputs, some internal processing or summing of certain signals may result in a mono output. This is typical for compact mixers of this type, especially when using mono inputs. Ensure your playback system is configured for stereo if desired, and note that channels 1 and 2 are mono inputs.
