3. Setup

3.1 Connecting to a Television

  1. Ensure both the Blu-ray recorder and your television are powered off.
  2. Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the rear of the DMR-BR130-K.
  3. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to an available HDMI input port on your television.
  4. Connect the power cord to the recorder and then to a power outlet.
  5. Connect the antenna cable to the appropriate input on the recorder for TV signal reception.

3.2 Initial Setup

Upon first power-on, the recorder will guide you through an initial setup process. This typically includes:

  • Language selection.
  • Time zone and clock settings.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Playback

  1. Insert a Blu-ray Disc or DVD into the disc tray.
  2. The disc should begin playback automatically. If not, select the disc from the main menu using the remote control.
  3. Use the remote control for playback functions such as Play, Pause, Stop, Fast Forward, and Rewind.

4.2 Recording Programs

The DMR-BR130-K records in DR mode only. This mode captures the broadcast signal without compression, ensuring high-quality recordings but does not allow for extended recording times through compression.

  1. Tune to the desired channel.
  2. Press the Record button on the remote control to start recording.
  3. Press the Stop button to end the recording.
  4. For scheduled recordings, access the EPG (Electronic Program Guide) or Timer Recording menu and follow the on-screen instructions.

4.3 Saving to Blu-ray Disc

Recorded content from the internal hard drive can be transferred and saved to a blank Blu-ray Disc (BD).

  1. Insert a blank Blu-ray Disc into the disc tray.
  2. Navigate to the recording list on the hard drive.
  3. Select the program(s) you wish to save.
  4. Choose the option to 'Copy' or 'Move' to Blu-ray Disc and follow the prompts.

Note: Content cannot be saved to DVD discs; DVDs are for playback only.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Unit

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners, as they may damage the finish.
  • Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.

5.2 Disc Handling

  • Handle discs by their edges to avoid fingerprints and scratches.
  • Store discs in their cases when not in use.
  • Do not expose discs to direct sunlight or high temperatures.
