3. Setup

3.1 Attaching the Reel to a Rod

  1. Locate the reel seat on your fishing rod.
  2. Place the reel foot into the fixed hood of the reel seat.
  3. Tighten the reel seat's locking nut until the reel is securely fastened and does not wobble. Ensure it is firm but do not overtighten.

3.2 Spooling the Line

The reel comes with one deep spool and three shallow spools. Choose the appropriate spool based on your fishing needs and line capacity requirements.

  1. Remove the front cone by twisting it counter-clockwise.
  2. Place your chosen spool onto the reel shaft.
  3. Thread the fishing line through the line guide on the front cone.
  4. Tie the line to the spool using an arbor knot or similar secure knot.
  5. Close the bail (if applicable, for spincast reels, ensure the line is properly seated).
  6. Replace the front cone by twisting it clockwise until secure.
  7. Begin winding the line onto the spool, keeping slight tension on the line to ensure even winding. Fill the spool to about 1/8 inch from the rim.

  2. Swing the rod forward in a smooth motion.
  3. Release the push button at the desired point in the cast to allow the line to fly freely.
  4. As the lure or bait approaches the target, lightly feather the line with your thumb or finger to control the distance and prevent backlash.
