Setup and Installation

Before You Begin

Ensure you have all necessary components and tools before starting installation. Required tools typically include an adjustable wrench, Phillips screwdriver, plumber's putty or silicone sealant, and safety glasses. Turn off the water supply to the sink before beginning any work.

Duralock Quick Connect System

The Orivesi faucet features the Duralock quick connect system, designed for easy and secure installation without the need for additional tools. This system allows for a simple snap-on connection of the water supply lines and sprayer hose.

Installation Steps (General)

  1. Prepare the Sink: Clean the mounting surface. If using the optional deck plate for a 3-hole installation, apply plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the base of the deck plate.
  2. Mount the Faucet: Insert the faucet body through the mounting hole(s) on the sink or countertop. Secure it from underneath with the provided mounting hardware.
  3. Connect Water Supply Lines: Attach the flexible supply lines to your hot and cold water shut-off valves. Use the Duralock quick connect system to attach them to the faucet.
  4. Install Sprayer Hose and Weight: Connect the pulldown sprayer hose to the faucet's quick connect fitting. Attach the hose weight to the pulldown hose at the indicated position to ensure proper retraction.
  5. Test for Leaks: Turn on the water supply and check all connections for leaks. Operate the faucet to ensure proper function of hot, cold, and spray modes.

Operating Instructions

Water Flow and Temperature Control

The Orivesi faucet features a single handle for controlling both water flow and temperature. Lift the handle to increase water flow. Move the handle left for hot water and right for cold water. Adjust the handle position to achieve your desired temperature and flow rate.

Pulldown Sprayer and Reflex System

To use the pulldown sprayer, simply pull the spray wand from the spout. The flexible hose allows for extended reach and maneuverability. The Reflex system ensures that the spray wand retracts smoothly and docks securely back into the spout when released.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Faucet

To maintain the finish of your Moen Orivesi faucet, clean it regularly with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or polishes, as these can damage the finish and void your warranty. Always rinse the faucet thoroughly after cleaning and dry it with a soft cloth.

Aerator Maintenance

If you notice reduced water flow or an irregular spray pattern, the aerator may be clogged with mineral deposits. To clean the aerator:

  1. Unscrew the aerator from the tip of the spray head.
  2. Separate the components and rinse them under running water.
  3. Use a soft brush or toothpick to remove any debris or mineral buildup. For stubborn deposits, soak the components in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water for a few hours.
  4. Reassemble the aerator and screw it back onto the spray head.
