Setup

Battery Installation

The remote control requires four (4) AAA batteries for operation. These batteries are typically included with your purchase.

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the cover downwards or press the latch (if present) to open the compartment.
3. Insert four AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Note: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly to prevent damage to the remote control. Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period.

Operating Instructions

This Redi-Remote replacement remote control is pre-programmed and ready for immediate use with compatible Emerson VCR units. No additional programming is required.

Upper Section Buttons

• PWR (Power): Turns the connected Emerson unit on or off.
• SLEEP: Activates the sleep timer function (if supported by the unit).
• TV/VIDEO: Switches between TV and Video input modes.
• DISP (Display): Shows on-screen display information.
• CH+ / CH- (Channel Up/Down): Changes channels.

Lower Section Buttons (Slide Down Cover)

To access additional VCR functions, slide down the cover located on the lower half of the remote control.

• INPUT: Selects input sources.
• REC/OTR (Record/One-Touch Record): Initiates recording or one-touch recording.
• SPEED: Adjusts playback or recording speed.
• P/S (Play/Still): Plays or pauses playback.
• Playback Controls (Play, Stop, Fast Forward, Rewind, Pause, Skip Forward, Skip Back): Standard VCR playback functions.
• MENU (Lower): Accesses specific VCR menus.
• CLEAR: Clears entries or selections.
• DISP (Lower): Displays VCR-specific information.
• CM SKIP (Commercial Skip): Skips forward a set duration during playback.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the remote control. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
