Setup

Battery Installation

The Redi-Remote Control requires four (4) AAA batteries for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the cover downwards or press the latch (if present) and lift to open the compartment.
3. Insert four new AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover by sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

Initial Use

This Redi-Remote Control is pre-programmed and does not require any additional setup or programming. Once batteries are installed, it is ready for immediate use with your compatible NEC Multisync display.

Operating Instructions

The remote control is designed to replicate the functions of your original NEC remote. Point the remote directly at the infrared receiver on your NEC Multisync display.

Basic Functions

• Power Button: Turns the display on or off.
• Input/Source: Selects the desired input source (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA).
• Menu: Accesses the display's on-screen menu for settings adjustments.
• Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right, Enter): Used to navigate through menu options and confirm selections.
• Volume Up/Down: Adjusts the audio volume if your display has integrated speakers or audio output.

Sliding Cover Feature

The remote control features a sliding cover over its lower half. This cover can be slid downwards to reveal additional buttons, which typically include advanced menu controls, aspect ratio adjustments, or other specific functions for your NEC Multisync display.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

Battery Care

• Remove batteries if the remote will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
• Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
• Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and are not depleted. Replace with fresh batteries if necessary.
• Intermittent response: Check for any obstructions between the remote and the display's infrared receiver. Ensure you are within the effective range and pointing the remote directly at the display.
• Specific functions not working: Verify that the function you are trying to use is supported by your specific NEC Multisync display model.
