Setup
- Adjusting Interpupillary Distance (IPD):
Hold the binoculars with both hands and look through them. Adjust the distance between the two barrels by moving them closer or further apart until you see a single, clear circular field of view. This ensures proper alignment with your eyes.
- Focusing:
First, close your right eye and focus the left barrel by rotating the center focus wheel until the image is sharp. Next, open your right eye and close your left eye. Rotate the diopter adjustment ring (located on the right eyepiece) until the image is sharp. Now, with both eyes open, use only the center focus wheel for all subsequent focusing.
- Twist-Up Eyecups:
The binoculars feature twist-up eyecups. If you wear eyeglasses or sunglasses, twist the eyecups down to achieve a full field of view. If you do not wear glasses, twist the eyecups up to the desired position for comfortable viewing and to block out peripheral light.
- Attaching the Neck Strap:
Thread the provided neck strap through the strap lugs on each side of the binoculars. Adjust the length of the strap for comfortable carrying around your neck.
Operating Your Binoculars
Once set up, your Bushnell H2O Series binoculars are ready for use. Their 10x magnification provides excellent detail for observing distant objects, while the 42mm objective lenses gather ample light for bright images, even in lower light conditions. The waterproof and fogproof design ensures reliable performance in challenging weather, preventing internal fogging due to temperature changes or humidity.
Always hold the binoculars steady for the best viewing experience. For extended observation, consider using a tripod adapter (sold separately) to mount the binoculars on a tripod, reducing fatigue and increasing stability.
Maintenance
Proper care will extend the life and performance of your binoculars.
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optics. Gently wipe the lenses to remove dust or smudges. For stubborn dirt, use a small amount of lens cleaning fluid applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
- Cleaning Body: The rubber armor can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store your binoculars in a cool, dry place when not in use. The included carrying case provides protection from dust and minor impacts. Ensure lens caps are in place to protect the optical surfaces.
- Waterproof Care: While waterproof, avoid prolonged submersion. If the binoculars get wet, wipe them dry with a clean cloth before storing.

Troubleshooting
- Blurry Image: Ensure both the center focus wheel and the diopter adjustment are correctly set for your eyes. Check for smudges on the lenses.
- Double Image: Re-adjust the interpupillary distance (IPD) until a single, clear circular field of view is achieved.
- Fogging: These binoculars are fogproof. If external fogging occurs, it is likely due to condensation on the outer lens surface from temperature differences. Wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Internal fogging is unlikely but if it occurs, contact customer support.
