3. Setup

3.1 Powering the Unit

The StompLab 2B can be powered by batteries or an optional AC adapter.

3.2 Connecting Your Equipment

  1. Connect your bass guitar to the INPUT jack using a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable.
  2. Connect the OUTPUT / PHONES jack to your amplifier, mixer, or headphones.
    • For an amplifier or mixer, use a 1/4-inch instrument cable.
    • For headphones, use a 1/4-inch stereo headphone jack.
  3. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the unit.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Turning On/Off

Press the Power Button on the rear panel to turn the unit on or off.

4.2 Selecting Programs

The StompLab 2B features 100 preset programs and 20 user programs.

  1. Rotate the CATEGORY knob to select a musical style (e.g., ROCK, BLUES, JAZZ/FUSION) or the USER bank.
  2. Use the DOWN and UP footswitches to scroll through the programs within the selected category. The LED display will show the program number.

4.3 Editing Programs

You can modify existing programs or create new ones in the user bank.

  1. Select the program you wish to edit.
  2. Press the EDIT button. The LED display will indicate edit mode.
  3. Use the GAIN / VALUE1 and LEVEL / VALUE2 knobs to adjust parameters. The specific parameter being adjusted will be indicated by the LED display or a small indicator light.
  4. Press the FX ON/OFF button to cycle through different effect types or to toggle individual effects within the program.
  5. To save your changes to a user program slot:
    • Hold down the EDIT button until "WR" (Write) appears on the display.
    • Use the DOWN and UP footswitches to select a user program destination (U01-U20).
    • Press the EDIT button again to confirm and save.

4.4 Using the Expression Pedal

The expression pedal can be assigned to control various effect parameters in real-time, such as volume, wah, or modulation speed. The specific function depends on the selected program and its settings.

The StompLab 2B includes a built-in tuner for accurate instrument tuning.

  1. Hold down the BYPASS / TUNER footswitch for a few seconds to activate the tuner. The display will show the note name.
  2. Play a single note on your bass. The display will indicate if the note is sharp, flat, or in tune.
  3. Adjust your instrument's tuning until the display shows the note as in tune.
  4. Press the BYPASS / TUNER footswitch again to exit tuner mode.
