4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The device operates on batteries (included). Open the battery compartment cover, typically located on the back or bottom of the main unit. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.

4.2 Cuff Connection

Connect the air tube from the cuff to the air jack on the side of the main unit. Ensure the connection is firm to prevent air leakage during measurement.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Preparing for Measurement

  • Avoid eating, drinking alcohol, smoking, exercising, and bathing for 30 minutes before measurement.
  • Rest for at least 5 minutes before taking a measurement.
  • Sit in a comfortable position with your back supported and feet flat on the floor.
  • Place your arm on a flat surface so the cuff is at heart level.

5.2 Applying the Cuff

  1. Ensure the cuff is placed directly on your bare upper arm, approximately 1-2 cm above the elbow joint.
  2. The air tube should run down the center of your arm in line with your middle finger.
  3. Wrap the cuff snugly around your arm. It should be tight enough that you can barely slide two fingers underneath.
  4. Position the cuff correctly, aligning the artery mark (if present) with your brachial artery.

5.3 Taking a Measurement (One-Touch Operation)

  1. Once the cuff is correctly applied and you are in a relaxed position, press the START/STOP button.
  2. The cuff will automatically inflate using Real Fuzzy Technology, which determines the ideal inflation level based on your individual blood pressure.
  3. The measurement will proceed, and your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.
  4. If an irregular heartbeat is detected, the Irregular Heartbeat Detector (IHB) symbol will appear on the display.
  5. Press the START/STOP button again to turn off the device. The measurement will be automatically stored in memory.

5.4 Memory Function

The device can store up to 90 measurement readings. To recall past measurements, press the Memory (M) button. Each press will cycle through the stored readings, displaying the most recent first.

5.5 Irregular Heartbeat Detector (IHB)

The IHB feature indicates the presence of an irregular heartbeat during measurement. If the IHB symbol appears frequently, consult your physician for further evaluation. This feature is for informational purposes and not a diagnostic tool.

6. Maintenance and Storage

  • Clean the device and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
