4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the iron from its packaging. Remove any protective films or stickers from the soleplate. Keep packaging materials away from children.

4.2 First Use Preparation

Before first use, it is recommended to iron an old piece of fabric (e.g., a cotton cloth) to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate. This may produce a slight odor or smoke, which is normal and will dissipate quickly.

4.3 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the mains.
  2. Set the steam control slider to the "Dry" position (no steam).
  3. Open the water filling inlet cover.
  4. Fill the water tank with tap water up to the "MAX" mark. Do not overfill. For areas with very hard water, a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water is recommended. Do not use perfumed water, water from tumble dryers, or chemically descaled water, as these can damage the iron.
  5. Close the water filling inlet cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Setting the Temperature

  1. Check the care label on the garment to determine the correct ironing temperature.
  2. Plug the iron into a suitable mains socket.
  3. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting. The indicator light will illuminate.
  4. Wait until the indicator light turns off, indicating the iron has reached the set temperature.

5.2 Dry Ironing

For dry ironing, ensure the steam control slider is set to the "Dry" position. Select the appropriate temperature and wait for the indicator light to turn off before ironing.

5.3 Steam Ironing

Steam ironing is suitable for most fabrics, except those marked with the "do not steam" symbol. Ensure the water tank is filled and the temperature is set to a steam-compatible level (usually between two dots and three dots on the dial). Once the indicator light turns off, move the steam control slider to the desired steam output (Eco or Max).

5.4 Vertical Steam

The vertical steam function is useful for removing creases from hanging garments, curtains, or drapes. Hold the iron vertically a few centimeters away from the fabric and press the steam shot button repeatedly. Ensure the temperature is set to a high steam setting.

5.5 Spray Function

Press the spray button to moisten stubborn creases. This function can be used with or without steam, at any temperature setting, as long as the water tank is filled.

5.6 Anti-Drip System

Your iron is equipped with an anti-drip system that prevents water from dripping from the soleplate when the temperature is too low for steam generation. If you hear a clicking sound, it is the anti-drip system activating.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Soleplate

To clean the soleplate, ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive liquid cleaner. Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the ceramic coating.

6.2 Anti-Calc Function (Self-Clean)

The iron features an integrated Anti-Calc system to reduce limescale build-up. For optimal performance, perform the self-clean function regularly (e.g., once a month, depending on water hardness).

  1. Fill the water tank to the MAX mark.
  2. Set the steam control to "Dry" and the temperature dial to maximum.
  3. Plug in the iron and wait for the indicator light to turn off.
  4. Unplug the iron.
  5. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
  6. Press and hold the "Self Clean" button (if available, or refer to specific model instructions for activating self-clean via steam shot button). Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, carrying away scale particles.
  7. Gently shake the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
  8. Plug the iron back in and let it heat up to dry the soleplate.
  9. Unplug and let it cool completely before storing.

6.3 Storage

After use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Store the iron upright on its heel rest to protect the soleplate, and wrap the power cord loosely around the cord wrap area.
