4. Maintenance
Cleaning:
Wipe the watch case and band with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and moisture. For the leather band, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals.
Water Resistance:
This watch is water resistant to 100 meters. This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes, rain, and brief immersion in water. It is generally suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for diving. Do not operate the crown or buttons while the watch is wet or submerged.
Battery Replacement:
The watch is powered by a quartz movement, which requires a battery. When the watch stops or the second hand moves erratically, it may be time for a battery replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by an authorized Casio service center to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
Leather Band Care:
Leather bands can deteriorate over time due to exposure to moisture, sweat, and direct sunlight. To prolong the life of your leather band, avoid prolonged exposure to water and extreme temperatures. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and allow to air dry.
5. Troubleshooting
- Watch is not running: Check if the crown is pushed in completely. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
- Date does not change at midnight: Ensure the time is set correctly for AM/PM. The date changes around midnight. If the watch is set to PM during the AM hours, the date will change at noon instead.
- Chronograph hands do not reset to zero: This may require a chronograph hand position adjustment. Consult an authorized service center or refer to advanced manual for specific adjustment procedures.
- Condensation inside the watch: This indicates a potential issue with the watch's seal. Avoid further exposure to water and have the watch inspected by an authorized service center immediately.
