4.1 Toner Cartridge Replacement

When the print quality deteriorates or the printer indicates a low toner level, it's time to replace the toner cartridge. The compatible cartridge for this model is the HP 88A Black Original LaserJet Toner Cartridge.

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on.
  2. Open the print cartridge access door on the front of the printer.
  3. Grasp the handle of the old toner cartridge and pull it straight out to remove it from the printer.
  4. Unpack the new HP 88A Black Original LaserJet Toner Cartridge from its box.
  5. Gently shake the new cartridge 6 to 8 times to distribute the toner evenly inside. This helps prevent print quality issues.
  6. Locate the orange sealing tape on the cartridge. Pull the orange tab until all the tape is completely removed from the toner cartridge.
  7. Caution: Avoid touching the imaging drum (the green roller) on the bottom of the print cartridge, as this can cause print quality problems.
  8. Insert the new toner cartridge into the printer, aligning it with the tracks inside. Push it firmly until it clicks into place.
  9. Close the print cartridge access door. The printer is now ready for use.
