4. Safety Instructions
WARNING: Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations, and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
4.1 Work Area Safety
- Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
- Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
4.2 Electrical Safety
- Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
- Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the power tool.
4.3 Personal Safety
- Always wear eye protection. Use safety glasses, goggles, or a face shield.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hats, or hearing protection.
- Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool.
- Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts.
4.4 Circular Saw Specific Safety
- DANGER: Keep hands away from cutting area and the blade. Keep your second hand on the auxiliary handle, or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw, they cannot be cut by the blade.
- Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The guard cannot protect you from the blade below the workpiece.
- Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade should be visible below the workpiece.
- Never hold the workpiece in your hands or across your leg while cutting. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform.
- Always use blades of the correct size and type for the material being cut.
5. Setup
5.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the circular saw and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the tool for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. Do not operate a damaged tool.
5.2 Blade Installation/Replacement
- Ensure the tool is unplugged from the power source.
- Locate the blade lock button and spindle nut.
- Press the blade lock button to secure the spindle.
- Use the provided wrench to loosen and remove the spindle nut.
- Carefully remove the old blade, noting its rotation direction.
- Install the new blade, ensuring the teeth are oriented correctly for cutting (usually indicated by an arrow on the blade and tool).
- Tighten the spindle nut securely with the wrench while holding the blade lock button.
5.3 Adjusting Cutting Depth and Angle
The Virutex RV70U allows for adjustments to cutting depth and angle to suit various applications.
- Depth Adjustment: Loosen the depth adjustment lever, set the desired cutting depth by moving the base plate, and then securely tighten the lever. Ensure the blade extends slightly below the workpiece.
- Angle Adjustment: Loosen the bevel adjustment knob, tilt the saw to the desired angle (e.g., 45 degrees for miter cuts), and then securely tighten the knob.

- Some models may include a lock-on button for continuous operation. To disengage, press the trigger again.
6.2 Cutting Techniques
Always ensure the workpiece is securely clamped before cutting.
- Straight Cuts: Align the saw's base plate with your cutting line. Start the saw before it contacts the material, then slowly and steadily push the saw through the workpiece. Maintain a firm grip with both hands.
- Plunge Cuts: For plunge cuts, ensure the blade guard is retracted. Position the front of the base plate on the workpiece, lift the rear of the saw slightly, start the motor, and slowly lower the blade into the material.
- Material Compatibility: The RV70U is suitable for cutting wood and aluminum. Ensure you use the correct blade type for each material.
