Setup and Assembly
Assembly typically requires basic hand tools (wrenches, sockets). It is recommended to have a second person assist with assembly due to the size and weight of the components.
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging and lay them out on a clean, flat surface. Verify all components listed in the "Package Contents" section are present.
- Assemble Basket Sections: Connect the various sections of the cargo basket frame using the provided bolts, nuts, and washers. Do not fully tighten hardware until all sections are loosely assembled.
- Attach Hitch Bar: Securely attach the hitch bar to the assembled cargo basket frame using the designated hardware. Ensure the hitch bar is oriented correctly for insertion into your vehicle's hitch receiver.
- Install Reflectors: Attach the two red reflectors to the rear of the cargo carrier for enhanced visibility.
- Final Tightening: Once all components are correctly aligned, progressively tighten all bolts and nuts. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Insert into Hitch Receiver: Slide the hitch bar into your vehicle's 5.1 cm x 5.1 cm (2-inch x 2-inch) hitch receiver. Align the hitch pin holes and insert the hitch pin, securing it with the clip.

Operating Instructions
Loading Cargo
- Ensure the total weight of your cargo does not exceed the carrier's maximum capacity of 227 kg (500 lbs).
- Distribute the weight evenly across the carrier's surface to maintain vehicle stability. Place heavier items towards the center.
- Keep cargo within the carrier's dimensions (Exterior: 135 x 48 x 13 cm; Interior: 130 x 44.5 x 11 cm) and below the top of the side rails where possible.
Securing Cargo
Always use appropriate cargo straps, bungee cords, or cargo nets to securely fasten all items to the carrier. Ensure there is no possibility of items shifting, falling off, or obstructing your view or vehicle lights during transit.

Vehicle Compatibility
This cargo carrier is designed for universal fit with vehicles equipped with a standard 5.1 cm x 5.1 cm (2-inch x 2-inch) hitch receiver. It is suitable for use with:
- Trucks
- SUVs
- Vans
- Cars
- RVs (Camping-Car)

Maintenance
Regular maintenance will extend the life of your MAXXHAUL 70107 Cargo Carrier.
- Inspection: Before each use, inspect the carrier for any signs of damage, wear, or loose components. Pay close attention to welds, bolts, and the hitch connection.
- Cleaning: Clean the carrier regularly with mild soap and water to remove dirt, road grime, and salt. Rinse thoroughly and dry to prevent corrosion.
- Rust Prevention: The carrier features a durable powder-coated finish for rust resistance. If the finish is scratched or chipped, touch up with rust-inhibiting paint to prevent corrosion.
- Storage: When not in use, store the cargo carrier in a dry, protected area to prevent exposure to harsh weather conditions.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Carrier rattles or wobbles | Loose hitch connection; improper installation; worn hitch receiver. | Ensure hitch pin is fully inserted and secured. Check all assembly bolts for tightness. Consider using an anti-rattle hitch device (sold separately). |
| Difficulty inserting hitch bar | Hitch receiver opening is obstructed or corroded; incorrect hitch size. | Clean the inside of the hitch receiver. Verify your vehicle has a standard 5.1 cm x 5.1 cm (2-inch x 2-inch) receiver. |
| Cargo shifting during transit | Inadequate securing of cargo; uneven weight distribution. | Always use multiple, strong cargo straps or a cargo net. Distribute weight evenly. Stop and re-secure cargo if shifting is observed. |
