Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install the stud adaptors onto your battery:
- Identify Battery Terminals: Locate the positive (+) and negative (-) terminal posts on your Odyssey battery. These adaptors are designed for batteries with 6mm x 1.0 female terminal post threads.
- Identify Adaptor Studs: The kit includes two different sized posts. The larger positive post measures approximately 0.750 inches (19.05 mm) at the base, tapering to 0.690 inches (17.53 mm) at the top. The smaller negative post measures approximately 0.690 inches (17.53 mm) at the base, tapering to 0.625 inches (15.88 mm) at the top. Match the appropriate stud adaptor to the corresponding battery terminal.
- Install Positive Adaptor: Carefully thread the larger positive stud adaptor into the positive battery terminal post. Hand-tighten first, then use an appropriate wrench to secure it firmly. Do not overtighten.
- Install Negative Adaptor: Carefully thread the smaller negative stud adaptor into the negative battery terminal post. Hand-tighten first, then use an appropriate wrench to secure it firmly. Do not overtighten.
- Connect Battery Cables: Place your vehicle's positive battery cable terminal over the newly installed positive stud adaptor. Secure it with one of the provided wing nuts. Repeat this process for the negative battery cable and negative stud adaptor. Ensure all connections are clean and tight to prevent electrical resistance and ensure proper current flow.
These adaptors convert the battery's internal threaded posts to standard SAE tapered posts, allowing for universal fitment of battery cables.
