Introduction
The Hasbro Elefun game is an interactive butterfly-catching game designed for children. A motorized elephant figure blows colorful butterflies through its long trunk, and players use nets to catch them as they float down. This game encourages active play and hand-eye coordination. It is suitable for children aged 3 years and older.
This manual provides essential information for the safe and correct setup, operation, and maintenance of your Elefun game.
Important Safety Information
- WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD – Small parts. Not for children under 3 years. Adult supervision is required during play, especially with younger children.
- Adult assembly is required for initial setup.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, and other objects away from the Elefun's trunk opening and fan mechanism to prevent entanglement.
- Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
- Remove batteries if the game will not be used for an extended period.
Setup Instructions
Before playing, ensure all components are present and follow these steps for assembly:
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. You should have the Elefun base unit, the trunk, several butterfly pieces, and catching nets.
- Install Batteries: The Elefun game requires 4 C-type batteries (not included). Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the Elefun base unit. Use a screwdriver to open the compartment, insert the batteries according to the polarity markings (+/-), and then securely close the compartment.
- Attach the Trunk: Connect the long trunk piece to the opening on the Elefun's head. Ensure it is firmly attached and points upwards.
- Prepare Butterflies: Gather all the colorful butterfly pieces.

Operating Instructions
Once the Elefun game is set up, follow these steps to begin playing:
- Load Butterflies: Place the colorful butterfly pieces into the opening at the top of the Elefun's trunk.
- Turn On: Locate the power switch on the Elefun base unit and switch it to the "ON" position. The Elefun will begin to blow air, causing the butterflies to fly out of its trunk.
- Catch Butterflies: Players use the provided nets to catch the butterflies as they float through the air. The player who catches the most butterflies wins the round.
- Reload and Repeat: Once all butterflies have been blown out and caught, collect them, reload them into the trunk, and switch the Elefun off and on again to start a new round.
