Setup Guide
1. Connecting the Antenna
Locate the BNC antenna connector on the rear of the scanner unit. Attach the supplied telescopic antenna by aligning the connector and twisting it clockwise until secure. For optimal reception, consider using an external antenna connected via a BNC-50 ohms connector.
2. Powering the Unit
The UBC355CLT can be powered using the included AC power adapter for home use or the car charger for mobile operation.

3. Initial Placement
Place the scanner on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. For mobile installation, use the provided mounting bracket to secure the unit in your vehicle.

- VOLUME Knob: Adjusts the audio output level.

- CB AM/FM Button: Selects Citizens Band (CB) frequencies and toggles between AM/FM modes.
Basic Operation
- Power On: Turn the VOLUME knob clockwise until the unit powers on and the display illuminates.
- Adjust Squelch: Turn the SQ knob clockwise until the static noise disappears. Turn it counter-clockwise to hear weaker signals, but this may introduce more static.
- Scanning Channels: The scanner comes with pre-programmed channels. Press the SCAN button (if available, or use the default scan mode) to begin scanning through active channels.
- Manual Tuning: Use the UP and DOWN buttons to manually tune to specific frequencies.
- Using Close Call: Press the CLOSE CALL button to activate the Close Call feature. The scanner will rapidly search for strong, nearby transmissions and automatically tune to them.
- Selecting Bands: Use the BAND/STEP, AIR/MARINE, or CB AM/FM buttons to switch between different frequency bands or modulation types (AM, FM, WFM).
