Casio G-Shock GW2310FB-1 Watch Instruction Manual

Model: GW-2310FB-1CR

Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use and care of your Casio G-Shock GW2310FB-1 watch. Please read this manual thoroughly to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your timepiece. This watch features Tough Solar power, Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping, 200-meter water resistance, and shock resistance.

Setup

1. Initial Charge (Tough Solar)

Your watch is powered by a solar cell and a rechargeable battery. To ensure proper operation, expose the watch face to light regularly. An initial full charge may take several hours under direct sunlight or a full day under fluorescent light.

  • Place the watch where its face is exposed to bright light.
  • Avoid covering the watch face while charging.
  • The power indicator on the display shows the current charge level. Aim for a 'H' (High) charge level.

2. Time Setting (Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping)

The watch automatically receives time calibration signals to maintain accurate time. Ensure the watch is placed in a location where it can receive signals, typically near a window, especially overnight.

  • Automatic Reception: The watch attempts to receive a calibration signal up to six times a day.
  • Manual Reception: To manually initiate signal reception, hold down the 'RECEIVE' button (usually bottom right) for a few seconds until 'RC!' appears.
  • Home City Setting: Set your home city correctly for accurate timekeeping and signal reception. Refer to the 'Operating' section for details on setting the home city.

  • To activate/deactivate Auto EL, hold the 'LIGHT' button (top right) for approximately three seconds in Timekeeping Mode. An indicator will appear/disappear on the display.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Regularly clean your watch to prevent dirt and grime buildup. Use a soft, dry cloth for the case and band. For resin bands, a mild soap and water solution can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying.

2. Battery Care (Tough Solar)

To maintain the rechargeable battery's health, ensure the watch receives adequate light exposure. Avoid prolonged storage in dark places, as this can lead to battery depletion and potential damage. If the power indicator shows 'L' (Low) or 'M' (Medium), expose the watch to light immediately.

3. Water Resistance

The watch is water resistant to 200 meters. This means it is suitable for showering, swimming, and diving. However, avoid operating buttons underwater, as this can compromise the water resistance. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.

Troubleshooting

1. Time Synchronization Issues

If the watch fails to synchronize with the atomic time signal:

  • Ensure your home city setting is correct for your region.
  • Place the watch near a window overnight, away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • Check the signal reception status (often indicated by 'RCVD' or 'ERR'). If 'ERR' appears, try a different location.

2. Power Level Issues

If the power indicator is consistently 'M' or 'L':

  • Expose the watch to bright light for an extended period.
  • Ensure the watch face is not obstructed.
  • If the issue persists after prolonged charging, the rechargeable battery may need servicing.

3. Display Readability

The GW2310FB-1 features a reverse LCD display, which can appear darker than standard displays. In low light, use the EL backlight. In bright sunlight, adjust the viewing angle for optimal clarity.
