2. Attaching the Ball Head
The ball head is typically pre-attached. If it needs to be re-attached or secured:
- Screw the ball head onto the central column's mounting screw until it is finger-tight.
- Use the provided Allen key to further tighten the ball head from the underside of the central column for a secure fit.
3. Attaching the Quick Release Plate to Your Camera
- Locate the quick release plate. It has a standard 1/4-inch camera screw.
- Align the screw with the tripod mount thread on the bottom of your camera.
- Turn the screw clockwise until the plate is firmly attached to your camera. Ensure it is tight to prevent camera rotation.
4. Mounting Your Camera on the Tripod
- Ensure the quick release clamp on the ball head is open.
- Slide the quick release plate (with your camera attached) into the clamp on the ball head.
- Close the quick release clamp securely. Verify that the camera is firmly seated and cannot be easily removed.

Operating Instructions
1. Adjusting Tripod Height
- Leg Extension: Each leg features twist locks. Rotate the lock counter-clockwise to loosen a leg segment, extend it to the desired length, and then rotate clockwise to tighten. Repeat for all segments on each leg.
- Center Column Adjustment: Loosen the locking screw for the central column. Raise or lower the column to the desired height. Tighten the locking screw to secure the column.
2. Using the Ball Head
- Positioning the Camera: Loosen the main locking knob on the ball head. This allows the camera to be tilted and rotated freely.
- Securing the Position: Once the desired camera angle is achieved, tighten the main locking knob firmly to secure the ball head in place.
- Panning: The ball head may feature a separate panning lock and scale for horizontal rotation. Loosen the panning lock (if present) to rotate the camera horizontally without affecting the tilt. Tighten to secure.
3. Macro Photography (Reversible Center Column)
For extreme low-angle or macro photography, the central column can be reversed:
- Remove the camera from the quick release plate.
- Loosen the central column locking screw and fully extend the central column upwards until it can be removed from the tripod body.
- Invert the central column and re-insert it into the tripod body from below.
- Tighten the central column locking screw. You can now mount your camera upside down for very low-angle shots.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the tripod with a soft, damp cloth after use, especially if exposed to dust, sand, or saltwater. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Lubrication: Moving parts are generally self-lubricating. Do not apply oil or grease unless specifically instructed by Rollei support.
- Storage: Store the tripod in its protective bag in a dry, cool place when not in use.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws and locking mechanisms for tightness. Use the provided Allen key to tighten any loose components.
Troubleshooting
- Problem: Tripod feels unstable.
- Solution: Ensure all leg segment twist locks are fully tightened. Verify that the leg angle locks are engaged. Check that the central column locking screw is tight. Ensure the tripod is placed on a stable, level surface.
- Problem: Camera movement after locking ball head.
- Solution: Confirm the main locking knob on the ball head is tightened sufficiently. Ensure the quick release plate is securely attached to both the camera and the ball head clamp.
- Problem: Legs are difficult to extend or retract.
- Solution: The twist locks may be overtightened or dirty. Loosen the twist locks completely before attempting to extend/retract. Clean leg segments if dirt or sand is present.
