4. Setup and First Use

Before brewing coffee for the first time, it is recommended to clean the appliance.

  1. Unpack the coffee maker and remove all packaging materials.
  2. Wash the glass carafe, lid, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
  3. Place the coffee maker on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
  4. Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the "MAX" level (6 cups) without adding coffee.
  5. Place the permanent filter into the filter basket, and close the lid.
  6. Place the empty carafe with its lid on the warming plate.
  7. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  8. Press the On/Off switch to start the brewing cycle. Allow the water to brew through completely.
  9. Once the cycle is complete, turn off the coffee maker and discard the water.
  10. Repeat this process 2-3 times to ensure the appliance is thoroughly cleaned.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew a fresh pot of coffee:

  1. Ensure the coffee maker is unplugged and cooled down if previously used.
  2. Open the lid of the water reservoir.
  3. Fill the glass carafe with the desired amount of fresh, cold water. Refer to the water level markings on the carafe and the water level indicator on the coffee maker. Do not exceed the "MAX" (6 cups) level.
  4. Pour the water from the carafe into the water reservoir.
  5. Place the permanent filter into the filter basket.
  6. Add the desired amount of ground coffee into the permanent filter. A general guideline is one level scoop (provided) per cup, but adjust to your taste.
  7. Close the lid securely.
  8. Place the empty glass carafe with its lid onto the warming plate. Ensure it is correctly positioned to activate the anti-drip feature.
  9. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.
  10. Press the On/Off switch. The indicator light will illuminate, and brewing will begin.
  11. The anti-drip feature allows you to temporarily remove the carafe during brewing to pour a cup. However, do not remove the carafe for more than 30 seconds to prevent overflow from the filter basket.
  12. Once the brewing cycle is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to the "keep warm" function. The indicator light will remain on.
  13. For optimal taste, consume coffee shortly after brewing. The warming plate will keep coffee hot for a limited time.
  14. To turn off the coffee maker, press the On/Off switch again. Unplug the appliance from the wall outlet when not in use.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your coffee maker.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  1. Always unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Remove the glass carafe, its lid, and the permanent filter.
  3. Discard used coffee grounds from the permanent filter.
  4. Wash the carafe, carafe lid, and permanent filter in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. These parts are not dishwasher safe.
  5. Wipe the exterior surfaces of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  6. Do not immerse the coffee maker base, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.

6.2 Descaling

Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting its performance. Descale your coffee maker every 2-4 weeks, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution: Mix white vinegar and water in equal parts, or use a commercial descaling agent designed for coffee makers, following the product instructions.
  2. Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir up to the "MAX" level.
  3. Place the permanent filter (without coffee) into the filter basket and close the lid.
  4. Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
  5. Turn on the coffee maker and allow half of the solution to brew through.
  6. Turn off the coffee maker and let it stand for 15-20 minutes to allow the solution to work.
  7. Turn the coffee maker back on and allow the remaining solution to brew through.
  8. Discard the solution from the carafe.
  9. Rinse the coffee maker by brewing several cycles with clean, fresh water (without coffee) until the vinegar smell is gone.
