1. Product Overview
The Lamin-x Custom Fit Blue Fog Light Covers are designed to protect the fog lights of your Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 (model years 2005-2010) from road debris and add a distinct blue aesthetic. These pre-cut films are made from a durable material that offers both protection and a unique appearance. The blue tint appears light blue when the lights are off and produces a white light when illuminated by halogen bulbs.

3. Installation Guide
Follow these steps for proper installation of your Lamin-x fog light covers. Ensure you work in a clean, dust-free environment.
- Prepare the Surface: Thoroughly clean the surface of your fog lights. Use a mild soap and water solution or an automotive glass cleaner to remove all dirt, dust, and grease. Ensure the surface is completely dry before proceeding.
- Identify the Covers: The kit includes two pre-cut covers, one for each fog light. Identify the correct cover for the left and right side of your vehicle. Each cover has small handling tabs to assist with application.
- Separate the Film from the Liner: Carefully peel the protective film from its backing liner. It is recommended to peel only a small section initially to avoid dust contamination.
- Apply Water Solution (Optional but Recommended): For easier positioning and to prevent bubbles, lightly mist the adhesive side of the film and the fog light surface with a slip solution (water mixed with a drop of mild soap).
- Position the Film: Carefully align the film over the fog light. The slip solution will allow you to slide and reposition the film until it is perfectly centered and aligned with the light's contours.
- Squeegee Out Water and Bubbles: Once positioned, use a squeegee or a credit card wrapped in a soft cloth to gently push out the water solution and any air bubbles from the center outwards. Apply firm, even pressure.
- Final Adhesion: Allow the film to dry and adhere completely. This may take several hours, depending on temperature and humidity. Avoid washing the vehicle or exposing the covers to excessive moisture for at least 24-48 hours.

4. Operating Characteristics
The blue tint of these covers provides a unique visual appearance to your vehicle's fog lights. When the lights are unlit, the covers display a light blue hue. When your vehicle's halogen fog lights are activated, the blue film allows for a white light output, maintaining effective illumination while adding a subtle stylistic element.
5. Maintenance and Care
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Lamin-x fog light covers, follow these care instructions:
- Clean the covers regularly with mild soap and water.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or stiff brushes, as these can scratch or damage the film.
- When washing your vehicle, treat the covers as you would the rest of your vehicle's painted surfaces.
- If using a pressure washer, maintain a safe distance and avoid directing high-pressure streams directly at the edges of the film to prevent lifting.
6. Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
- Bubbles or Wrinkles: If bubbles or wrinkles appear after installation, gently lift the affected area of the film (if still wet) and re-squeegee from the center outwards. For small, persistent bubbles, a pinprick can release trapped air, then smooth down.
- Edges Lifting: Ensure the edges are firmly pressed down during installation. If lifting occurs after drying, re-clean the area and try to re-adhere with firm pressure. For persistent lifting, a small amount of heat from a hairdryer can sometimes help reactivate the adhesive, but use caution to avoid overheating.
- Dust or Debris Under Film: This is usually due to insufficient cleaning or working in a dusty environment. If visible, the film may need to be carefully removed, the surface re-cleaned, and a new application attempted.
