Safety Information

Always prioritize safety during installation and maintenance. Ensure all local plumbing and building codes are followed. If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified professional.

Installation Instructions

The Holdrite QuickStrap QS-50 is designed for straightforward installation. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Prepare the Water Heater: Ensure the water heater is in its final desired position and is stable.
  2. Determine Strap Placement: Strapping shall be at points within the upper one-third (1/3) and lower one-third (1/3) of its vertical dimensions. At the lower point, a distance of not less than four (4) inches (102mm) shall be maintained above the controls with the strapping.
  3. Mark Mounting Points: Hold the straps around the water heater at the determined heights and mark the corresponding locations on the wall studs where the J-clips will be attached.
  4. Attach J-clips: Secure the J-clips to the wall studs using appropriate fasteners (e.g., 3/8 inch carriage bolts and hex nuts provided). Ensure they are firmly anchored.
  5. Thread Straps: Thread the galvanized stainless steel straps through the J-clips and around the water heater.
  6. Secure and Adjust: Utilize the QuickLink system to tighten the straps around the water heater. The system allows for full adjustment from the front side. Ensure the straps are snug but do not deform the water heater tank.
  7. Final Check: Verify that both upper and lower straps are securely fastened and the water heater is firmly restrained against the wall.
