Raymond Weil Parsifal 9989 Watch User Manual

Introduction

Welcome to the user manual for your new Raymond Weil Parsifal Two-Tone Ladies Brown Leather Band Watch, Model 9989. This guide provides essential information on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your timepiece to ensure its longevity and optimal performance. Please read this manual carefully before using your watch.

Setup

Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the watch from its packaging. Inspect the watch for any visible damage or irregularities. Ensure all protective films are removed from the crystal and case back.

Adjusting the Strap and Clasp

The watch features a brown leather band with a deployment clasp. To adjust the fit, locate the small pins on the clasp mechanism. Gently press or slide these pins to release the strap from the clasp, allowing you to adjust the length. Once the desired length is achieved, re-secure the pins. Ensure the clasp closes securely for comfortable and safe wear.

Setting the Time and Date

To set the time, gently pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch case) out to its outermost position. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to move the hands to the correct time. If your watch has a date function, pull the crown out to the first click position and rotate it to adjust the date. Once set, push the crown back in fully to ensure water resistance and to start the watch movement.

Operating Instructions

Basic Timekeeping

Your Raymond Weil Parsifal watch is designed for accurate timekeeping. Once the time is set and the crown is pushed in, the watch will begin to operate. For optimal accuracy, avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures or strong magnetic fields.

Water Resistance

This watch is designed with a certain level of water resistance. Please refer to the markings on the case back or the product specifications for the exact water resistance rating. Generally, watches are resistant to splashes and brief immersion, but are not suitable for swimming or diving unless explicitly stated. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.

Maintenance

Cleaning Your Watch

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For the leather strap, avoid excessive moisture and harsh chemicals. If the strap becomes dirty, gently wipe it with a slightly damp cloth and allow it to air dry completely.

Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The original watch box is ideal for storage as it provides protection from dust and scratches.

Battery Replacement and Servicing

If your watch is quartz-powered, the battery will eventually need replacement. It is recommended to have battery replacements and any other servicing performed by an authorized Raymond Weil service center or a qualified watchmaker to ensure proper sealing and functionality.

Troubleshooting

Watch Not Running

  • Check the crown: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in. If it's pulled out, the watch will not run.
  • Battery (for quartz models): If the watch is quartz, the battery may be depleted. Seek professional replacement.

Time Inaccurate

  • Reset time: Re-set the time as per the "Setting the Time and Date" section.
  • Environmental factors: Avoid strong magnetic fields or extreme temperature fluctuations.

Water Inside Crystal

If you notice condensation or water droplets inside the crystal, immediately take the watch to an authorized service center. This indicates a breach in water resistance that needs urgent attention to prevent damage to the movement.
