3. Setup and Installation
Installation of the Blue Ocean SPS392H Shower Panel requires careful measurement and connection to existing hot and cold water lines. It is recommended to consult a professional plumber for installation to ensure proper function and to maintain warranty status.
3.1 Pre-Installation Checks
- Ensure minimum water pressure of 28 psi and maximum of 72 psi.
- Verify the presence of accessible hot and cold water outlets on the wall.
- Confirm the wall structure can support the weight of the shower panel (approximately 35 pounds).
3.2 Mounting the Panel
The shower panel is designed for wall-mount installation. The actual contact footprint of the unit on the shower wall is approximately 8.5 inches wide by 49.25 inches high. Ensure that any pre-existing valve holes or plumbing connections are within these dimensions to be covered by the panel.
- Mark the desired installation height and position for the mounting brackets.
- Drill holes and secure the mounting brackets to the wall, ensuring they are screwed into a wood stud for sufficient strength.
- Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding inlets on the back of the shower panel. The internal plumbing of the unit is pre-assembled; only external hot and cold water connections are needed.
- Carefully hang the shower panel onto the secured mounting brackets.

3.3 Water Connections
The shower panel requires standard hot and cold water pipe connections. The supplied hoses are standard flexible plumbing connection hoses. If longer hoses are required for your specific installation, they can be replaced with standard fittings available at hardware stores. Exercise caution when replacing hoses to avoid damaging the glass panel or internal components.
4. Operating Instructions
The Blue Ocean SPS392H features multiple controls for various shower functions and temperature adjustment.
4.1 Temperature Control
The shower panel includes an automatic temperature control system. The main handle controls the water flow, while a separate knob sets the desired temperature. Once set, the system will automatically mix hot and cold water to maintain this temperature for subsequent showers.
- Setting Temperature: Rotate the temperature knob to your desired setting. The integrated LED display will show the current water temperature.
- Temperature Display: The LED display shows the temperature in Celsius. It changes color (e.g., from blue to orange/red) as the water temperature increases.
- Safety Detent: A safety detent on the temperature knob prevents it from turning hotter than 38°C (100°F). To achieve higher temperatures, press the red button on the side of the knob to release the detent and turn further.
4.2 Water Flow Control
The on/off water flow knob operates with a 1/4 turn. Turning the knob to the left activates the water flow, and turning it to the right shuts it off.
4.3 Function Selection
The shower panel offers multiple water outlets, each controlled independently:
- Rainfall Shower Head: Located at the top of the panel, provides an overhead rain effect.
- Handheld Shower: A flexible wand for targeted rinsing.
- Massage Jets: Eight adjustable body jets provide a soothing water massage. These jets can be individually adjusted for pressure and direction.
- Bottom Faucet: A spout at the bottom of the panel for filling tubs or buckets.
To select a function, rotate the corresponding knob to the desired setting. Multiple functions can be used simultaneously, but this may affect water pressure depending on your home's plumbing system.

5. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your shower panel system.
- Cleaning: To prevent mineral deposits and maintain the panel's shine, wipe down the unit with a soft cloth after each use, especially in areas with hard water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the stainless steel finish.
- Nozzle Maintenance: Periodically check the shower head and massage jets for any mineral buildup. Clean nozzles by gently rubbing them to dislodge deposits or use a descaling solution if necessary.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your shower panel.
- No Water Flow or Low Pressure:
- Check if the main water supply valves are fully open.
- Ensure that the 1/2" hoses are properly connected and not kinked.
- Inspect the rubber washers with mesh filters for debris; clean if clogged.
- Incorrect Water Temperature (e.g., only hot or cold):
- Verify that the hot and cold water supply lines are connected to the correct inlets on the panel. Reversed connections will prevent proper temperature mixing.
- If the temperature is too low, ensure the safety detent on the temperature knob is disengaged (press the red button) to allow for higher temperature settings.
- LED Temperature Display Not Working:
- Check the battery compartment for proper battery installation and charge.
- Inspect internal wiring connections to the battery box and display for any disconnections.
