Setup
1. Power Connection

2. Battery Backup Installation
The RP5605 requires 2 x AA batteries (not included) for clock and alarm backup during power outages.
- Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 2 new AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
Note: Battery backup only maintains time and alarm settings; the unit will not function (radio, CD, display) without AC power.
3. Antenna Setup
For optimal FM reception, extend the built-in FM wire antenna fully. For AM reception, the unit has a built-in AM antenna; try repositioning the unit for better reception if needed.
Operating Instructions
1. Setting the Clock
- Press and hold the TIME SET button (refer to unit for exact button label, often combined with other functions).
- While holding TIME SET, press the HOUR button repeatedly to adjust the hour. Observe the PM indicator if present.
- Release the TIME SET button.
- Press and hold the TIME SET button again, then press the MINUTE button repeatedly to adjust the minutes.
- Release both buttons to save the time.
2. Radio Operation (AM/FM)
- Press the RADIO button to turn on the radio.
- Press the RADIO button again to switch between FM and AM bands.
- Use the TUNING buttons (often labeled TUNE + and TUNE - or similar) to select your desired station.
- Adjust the volume using the VOLUME control buttons.
- To turn off the radio, press the OFF button or cycle through modes until the radio is off.
3. CD Player Operation
- Lift the CD compartment lid.
- Place a CD with the label side facing up onto the spindle.
- Close the CD compartment lid securely.
- Press the CD/MODE button (or similar) to select CD playback.
- Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback.
- Use the SKIP buttons (>>| and |<<) to navigate between tracks.
- Press the STOP button to end CD playback.
4. Alarm Settings
The RP5605 typically features one or two alarms with options for radio or CD wake-up.
- Press and hold the ALARM SET button (e.g., ALARM 1 or ALARM 2).
- While holding, use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons to set the desired alarm time.
- Release the ALARM SET button.

- To turn off a sounding alarm, press the OFF button.
5. Snooze Function
When the alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE bar to temporarily silence the alarm. The alarm will sound again after approximately 9 minutes.
6. Sleep Timer
The sleep timer allows you to fall asleep to music, with the unit automatically turning off after a set period.
- While the radio or CD is playing, press the SLEEP button (if available).
- Each press will cycle through available sleep times (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, OFF).
- The unit will automatically turn off after the selected time.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Unit
- Unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
- For the CD lens, use a specialized CD lens cleaner disc.
Battery Replacement
