2. Setup and Installation
2.1 What's in the Box

Note: Batteries and the MB220 remote control are not included with this single ceiling light unit.
2.2 Battery Installation
- Twist the back cover of the ceiling light counter-clockwise to open the battery compartment.
- Insert four (4) C-cell batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the back cover by aligning and twisting clockwise until secure.
2.3 Mounting the Ceiling Light
The MB985 ceiling light features simple wireless installation, requiring no electrician. It can be flush-mounted to a ceiling or wall.
- Select a desired mounting location on a ceiling or wall. Ensure the surface is suitable for screw installation.
- Separate the mounting plate from the light unit by twisting.
- Position the mounting plate at the chosen location and mark the screw holes.
- Using the provided screws, securely attach the mounting plate to the surface.

3. Operating Instructions
The Mr Beams MB985 ReadyBright Ceiling Light operates as part of the ReadyBright Wireless Power Outage LED Lighting System. It is designed to work in conjunction with the Mr. Beams MB220 remote control (not included).
3.1 Power Outage Detection
- When a power outage occurs, the MB985 ceiling light will automatically detect the power failure and illuminate.
- It provides up to 40 hours of continuous light on a single set of batteries during an outage.
3.2 Remote Control Operation
The MB985 light can be controlled manually using the MB220 remote control for convenience and to conserve battery life when not needed during an outage.
- Use the remote to turn the light ON or OFF as desired.
- The remote allows for maximum safety and convenience, enabling you to control the light from a distance.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Battery Replacement
When the light output diminishes or the light fails to activate, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps in Section 2.2 for battery installation.
4.2 Cleaning
To clean the light, gently wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
