Maintenance and Cleaning
1. Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray and grid daily.
- Portafilter: Remove spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter under running water.
- Milk Carafe: After each use, perform the "Clean" function. For thorough cleaning, disassemble the carafe and wash all components with warm water and mild detergent.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
2. Descaling
The machine will indicate when descaling is required (e.g., a flashing calcium light indicator). Follow the descaling instructions provided with your De'Longhi descaler solution. Regular descaling is crucial for machine longevity and optimal performance, especially in areas with hard water.
Note: If the calcium light indicator flashes even after setting, ensure the descaling cycle is completed fully according to the instructions. Incomplete cycles can cause the indicator to persist.
