1. Safety Instructions

3. Setup

Unpacking

Carefully remove the router and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect the tool for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Retain packaging materials for future storage or transport.

Installing Router Bits

1. Ensure the router is unplugged from the power source.
2. Press and hold the spindle lock button.
3. Loosen the collet nut using the provided wrench.
4. Insert the router bit into the collet, ensuring at least 3/4 of the shank is seated. Do not bottom out the bit.
5. Tighten the collet nut firmly with the wrench while holding the spindle lock.

Adjusting Routing Depth

1. With the router unplugged and the bit installed, place the router on a flat surface.
2. Loosen the base clamping lever.
3. Rotate the depth adjustment ring to raise or lower the motor assembly until the desired bit protrusion is achieved.
4. Use the fine adjustment knob for precise depth settings.
5. Tighten the base clamping lever to secure the depth setting.

Connecting Dust Extraction

For cleaner operation and improved visibility, connect a suitable dust extraction system to the router's dust port. Ensure the hose is securely attached and does not interfere with the router's movement.

4. Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off

To turn the router ON, push the power switch to the 'ON' position. To turn it OFF, push the switch to the 'OFF' position. The router features a soft start to prevent sudden jolts upon startup.

Speed Selection

Rotate the speed control dial (Figure 3) to select the appropriate RPM for your material and router bit. Lower speeds are generally used for larger diameter bits, harder materials, or when making deeper cuts. Higher speeds are suitable for smaller bits and softer materials.

Routing Techniques

• Edge Routing: For routing edges, ensure the router base is fully supported on the workpiece. Use a fence or guide for straight cuts.
• Direction of Cut: Always feed the router into the workpiece against the rotation of the bit. This provides better control and prevents the router from running away.
• Multiple Passes: For deeper cuts, make several shallow passes rather than one deep pass. This reduces strain on the tool and bit, and improves cut quality.

Cleaning
