Prym Self-Adhesive Nylon Patching Manual
Model: PRYM_929500-1
Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the proper use and care of your Prym Self-Adhesive Nylon Patching. Designed for quick and easy repairs, this patch is suitable for polyamide and polyester fabrics, commonly found in outdoor gear, clothing, and accessories.

Setup
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the area to be patched is clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, or loose threads. For best adhesion, the fabric should be smooth and flat.
- Cut the Patch: If the damaged area is smaller than the patch (10 cm x 18 cm), you can cut the patch to the desired size and shape using sharp scissors. For optimal adhesion and to prevent lifting, it is recommended to round the corners of the cut patch.

Operating Instructions
- Peel the Backing: Carefully peel off the protective paper backing from the adhesive side of the patch. Avoid touching the adhesive surface with your fingers.
- Apply the Patch: Position the patch over the damaged area, ensuring it completely covers the tear or hole with sufficient overlap.
- Press Firmly: Press the patch down firmly and evenly onto the fabric. Apply pressure from the center outwards to remove any air bubbles. For best results, rub the patch vigorously for several seconds, especially around the edges, to ensure strong adhesion.
- Allow to Set: For maximum bond strength, allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before subjecting the patched item to stress or washing.
Maintenance
- Washing: Patched items can typically be washed. Use a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water. Avoid harsh detergents or bleach.
- Drying: Air dry the item if possible. If using a dryer, use a low heat setting. High heat may weaken the adhesive bond over time.
- Ironing: Avoid direct ironing on the patch. If ironing is necessary, place a cloth over the patch and use a low heat setting.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Patch not sticking well. | Surface was not clean or dry; insufficient pressure applied during application; adhesive not fully cured. | Ensure surface is thoroughly clean and dry. Apply firm, even pressure for an extended period. Allow 24 hours for adhesive to cure before use. |
| Edges of patch are lifting. | Corners were not rounded; insufficient pressure on edges; fabric type not ideal for self-adhesive patches. | Re-apply pressure to lifting edges. For future applications, always round corners. Consider using a fabric adhesive or sewing if the fabric is highly textured or coated. |
