Setup
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the glass jars, jar lids, and transparent cover in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the yogurt maker base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water.
- Placement: Place the yogurt maker on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the appliance.
Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to make homemade yogurt:
- Prepare Yogurt Mixture: Heat 1 liter of milk (dairy or non-dairy) to approximately 85°C (185°F) and hold for a few minutes. Allow it to cool down to 40-45°C (104-113°F). Stir in 2-3 tablespoons of plain yogurt with live active cultures or a yogurt starter culture. Ensure the starter is well mixed.
- Fill Jars: Pour the prepared yogurt mixture evenly into the 7 clean glass jars. Do not overfill.
- Place Jars: Place the filled jars (without their individual lids) into the yogurt maker base.
- Cover: Place the transparent cover over the jars and onto the base.
- Set Time Identifier: The numbered dial (1-12) on the front of the unit is a time identifier. Rotate it to mark the approximate time you started the fermentation or when you expect it to be ready. This is a manual reminder and does not control the appliance's operation.
- Start Fermentation: Plug the power cord into a 230V, 50Hz electrical outlet. Turn the On/Off switch to the "On" position. The indicator light will illuminate, signifying that the appliance is operating.
- Fermentation Time: Allow the yogurt to ferment for 8-12 hours, or until it reaches your desired consistency. The fermentation time can vary based on the starter culture, milk type, and ambient temperature.
- Finish: Once fermentation is complete, turn the On/Off switch to the "Off" position and unplug the appliance.
- Cool and Refrigerate: Remove the jars from the yogurt maker. Place the individual lids on the jars. Allow the yogurt to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving. Refrigeration stops the fermentation process and thickens the yogurt.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your yogurt maker.
